RE: Big 12 Bowl eligibility watch
We have a potential for 9 bowl games?

Big 12 CFP Contract Bowl Qualifier
The Big 12 champion will earn the Conference's automatic berth for its CFP contract bowl slot.

Additional Big 12 Teams in the CFP
If a Big 12 team(s) is rated in the top four of the CFP, it will play in one of the semifinals. This does not affect the Big 12 designee being placed in a CFP New Year's Bowl if it is not one of the top four teams. There is not a limit on the number of teams from one conference that can be placed in CFP bowls. Additional Big 12 teams may be selected for other CFP New Year's bowls based on their ranking in the final CFP Poll.

Big 12 Bowl Partners
Once the CFP has filled its bowl slots, Big 12 bowl partners will make selections from the remaining Conference teams. Following is the order of selection. A bowl may pick from any available teams with .500 or better records when it reaches its spot in the selection order. After the placement of those teams, slots will be filled from among the pool of remaining teams.
Allstate Sugar
Valero Alamo
Pop-Tarts
TaxAct Texas
AutoZone Liberty
Guaranteed Rate
Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl*/SERVPRO First Responder Bowl*
Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl

Pop-Tarts Bowl? Is that the old Tangerine Bowl? It's in Orlando

RE: Big 12 Bowl eligibility watch
Yes--Pop-Tarts is the new (2023) title sponsor of the game previously known as the Tangerine Bowl and features the 2nd selection from the Big 12 against the top selection from the ACC (outside of the CFP series of course).

RE: Big 12 Bowl eligibility watch
If Oklahoma goes undefeated and Texas' only losses are to Oklahoma, they might both go to NY6 games.

I wonder what it would take to maximize our bowl selections?

//Committee Picks//
OU - Sugar Bowl (CFP)
Texas - Cotton Bowl (NY6 At-Large)
---
//Contracts//
Oklahoma State - Valero Alamo
Kansas State - Pop-Tarts
Kansas - TaxAct Texas
Iowa State - AutoZone Liberty
BYU - Guaranteed Rate
TCU - Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl
WVU - Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl
---
//Pick-ups//
UCF - Gasparilla Bowl? (McMurphy prediction)
Baylor - Birmingham Bowl? (McMurphy prediction)

Can we get 11 teams bowl eligible?

I think it would be the 3rd or 4th selection depending on the CFP.

CFP
Sugar Bowl
Alamo Bowl
Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop-Tarts Bowl

Gonna be tough for ISU to get that needed 6th win:

Kansas
@BYU (night game)
Texas
@Kansas State

That Ohio loss is gonna come back to haunt us. And crapped the bed against Iowa once again.

Baylor's done in my mind. Even if they beat Houston on Sat, they would then have to win 2 of 3 out of K-State, Tcu, and WVU. Yeah, not happening.

We took care of business with Cincy. I hope we've got enough left on this team to achieve bowl eligibility. None of those three remaining opponents will be a cakewalk by any means.

RE: Big 12 Bowl eligibility watch
we need two more to qualify just to meet our bowl tie-ins, not counting potentially getting a team into the CFP.

we know one more will qualify this weekend with ISU playing BYU

but we need at least one more team to step it up and get eligible (bring in some money!!)

we sure do not want to leave any B12 bowl money on the table.

Iowa State beat BYU to claim another bowl eligibility slot. Week 12 will see another as Texas Tech and UCF face off to see who gets their 6th win.

My BYU team appears to be done. They have been blown out in 4 of their last 5 games and will close out the season against #17 Oklahoma and @ #15 Oklahoma State.

@ Texas Tech
vs. Houston

These are our last two opportunities to claim bowl eligibility. We need that UCF team that beat Oklahoma State to keep showing up!

I read that nationwide there may be a problem with bowl eligible teams, so we really need to fulfil our contracts and hopefully pick up an extra bowl game or two.

Next year will be fun for y'all. Holy war + one more year of P5 recruiting.

My Frogs are pretty much done as well. We have the Revivalry next and then we end our season with Oklahoma, in Norman. As much as I hate to say it, there's no way we get bowl eligible. I'm pretty much placing my hopes for the season on beating Baylor at this point.

Just unbelievable to me that we went from playing in the Natty to not even making a bowl game in one year. Dykes has lost most of the goodwill he earned after the playoff run and needs to fire both coordinators the second the season ends. Briles first.

It's definitely been a painful season in the stands this year.

RE: Big 12 Bowl eligibility watch
I'm so happy to be here, last week was just what we needed. I was on record writing off this season, but now I think the chances of missing a bowl are the same as the chances of winning out.

If we manage to make it to 7-5, 8-5 with a favorable bowl matchup, that's about as good of a year one as you can ask.

Texas Tech though, no reason at all to overlook them in any sort of fashion. We're gonna have our work cut out for us, in a hostile environment. No way we repeat what we did to OSU
