21-0 WMU in 2nd qtr

EMU has their back up QB in....dude had never thrown a pass in a college game and his first pass was an int. Another easy pickings with a bad back u p at the most important position

Tulsa about to lose by 60 to SMU. SIU and that game is what is going to make this season just meh even if they win out. Unless they back into the MACC and win that and a bowl game.

Agreed, regardless of how we finish both were bad losses. Tulsa got pummeled by a perennially terrible Rice too.

While I’m not happy about the Tulsa loss, the SIU is the only game I feel they blew. Let’s say the beat SIU and Tulsa. They’d be 6-2 with a good shot at 10-2 or 9-3…..this is NOT a 10-2 quality team. If they manage 8-4 or 7-5 I think that’s about how good they are. Toledo could go 11-1 and they are at best a 9-3, 8-4 level team. The mac just has a lot of easy wins.

That perennial Rice team is 2-2 in the AAC with a win over Houston and just got beat by only 2 points by #22 Tulane.

Perennial is history. Tulane has been perennial terrible too until last year. And Houston has recently been a G5 power before moving to the Big 12.

On the other hand, the EMU team we barely scored 20 against just gave up 45 to WMU. And the Ohio team which was one of our best wins just lost to a Miami team with its backup QB.

Tulane, now that would be an ideal school for a one and one deal. Bet a good amount of fans would travel down there to see them and then get another team from the AAC in HS.

Rice hasn't had a winning season since 2014. In the last 25 years they've had six winning seasons.

I understand what the word "perennial" means.

And I'm still not sure what it has to do with predicting future success.

RE: NIU vs EMU - Official Gamethread
College football is a lot less predictable than the NFL. We definitely shot ourselves in the foot and "blew" the SIU and Tulsa games. That still irks me. But at the end of the day, you are what your record is...

BEAT CMU!!!!!

Not in NIU's case. I think we are a much better team than what our record indicates. We are a lot better than what we were at 1-4. If we could just take advantage of a stacked box against the run, we'd be AMAZING!!!!!!!!

We had a better team than 1-4 but we weren't playing any better than 1-4. That rests solely on the coaching.
