Baylor @ Cincinnati Game Thread
Twenty six hours before kickoff and no game thread? That's a certain sign of the despair among Bearcat football fans right now. Three things I believe about this one:

1. Statistically, this appears to be the best opportunity for a victory among the remaining games.
2. Losing tomorrow will fan the flames of a growing firestorm of QB and Coaching controversy.
3. The Bearcats will find a way to win tomorrow. At this point, I couldn't even begin to guess the score. A positive outcome might bode well for a turnaround that could produce a couple more wins down the stretch, some positive momentum for recruiting, and some hope for our fans for next season.

Go Bearcats!

It does look like there is chance to win this game, but the offense needs to get much better after last week's debacle.

Iowa State is 12th in SP+ adjusted defense. No metric is perfect but I'd consider that the best ranking for defenses we have. Baylor is 71st in that metric. Just that alone should make the offense look better.

Interesting matchup between two teams desperate for a win. Teams have run all over Baylor this season. Baylor has also struggled running and pass protecting. They do have some playmakers at wide receiver and got their QB back. Probably comes down to whether UC can avoid the bad play, can finish drives with touchdowns (I would bet UC puts up a lot of yards this week), and whether they can limit Baylor's big plays in the passing game (less confident in this). The Baylor offensive line will give on a drive if you don't let them make chunk plays down the field.

I just can't pull the trigger on a -3.5 line.
The Bearcats have not given me anything since the first half of the Pitt game to have any confidence in a victory.

Yeah I have no idea what happened last week against a team that lost to Ohio U.

I hope for the sake of the program as well as the fragile psyches around here that they come out and roll Baylor.

Roll Baylor? I'd jump off my deck if we win by one point. Now, if we get rolled by Baylor, then all bets are off. I may have to step back from posting for a time LOL.

RE: Baylor @ Cincinnati Game Thread
I really feel like the Bearcats think they have Baylor's number. What I think the coach wants to do is take the best of all of his gameplans and use them in this game.

But he thinks the most important thing is getting that first score. He wants to jump on Baylor early, get ahead, and make them chase him.

Baylor's coach doesn't think his quarterback will throw six interceptions. But the key is, as the Baylor quarterback told us last night, is that he has to be patient. He said "I've got to be patient. I'm going to be patient. I'm going to throw a lot of passes in that ten yard area."

Bolded, my sentiments too. With what we've seen YTD, I think a one point win (or loss) fits the narrative. 05-stirthepot

Two possessions so far

Fumble on 4th down
3 and out and nearly an interception.

This is the first meeting between the Bearcats and Bears. Who will maintain dominance? We're finding out this afternoon.
