Mid season ACC (and associates) power rankings
You can disagree with it if you want, but you’d be wrong, cuz science!

1 FSU 6-0 (4-0) - actually looking like the #4 in the nation as of late, plus their 2 best wins look better than the next best team.

2 UNC 6-0 (3-0) - has looked really good so far, their latest win vs a solid UM.

3 Duke 5-1 (2-0) - mostly an easy schedule with a good win and a close loss to a good team.

4 UL 6-1 (3-1) - still a good team, just got a little upset tummy.

5 ND 5-2 (2-1) - has had the toughest schedule so far with their latest win being a drumming of USC.

6 Clem 4-2 (2-2) - hard to get read on them, but their defense has been good.

7 GT 3-3 (2-1) - They are a UM brain fart away from being near the bottom of the ACC, but they are here for now.

8 UM 4-2 (0-2) - an understandable road loss to a good UNC. I have to put them here for now because they looked great in their OOC games.

9 VT 3-4 (2-1) - winning 2 of the last 3. Has looked better with a change of QB.

10 NCSU 4-3 (1-2) - if they could ever find their offense...

11 Pitt 2-4 (1-2) - great win against a good UL team which keeps them off the very bottom.

12 SU 4-0 (0-3) - just were not very competitive against good competition. Fortunately it gets much easier from here and they can prove they don’t belong here.

13 BC 3-3 (1-2) - that near FSU upset seems like years ago now. However they do have 2 wins in a row though to bad teams.

14 Wake 3-3 (0-3) - beat up on bad teams early, obvious a rebuild year.

15 UVA 1-5 (0-2) - 03-puke

Where would you slide these teams in the rankings?

SMU 5-2 - no spectacular wins, but they had competitive games vs TCU and Oklahoma

Stanford 2-4 - decent win vs Colorado, but a terrible loss to FCS Sac. St.

Cal 3-4 - no good wins of note, but they were competitive in most of their losses which included Utah, Oregon, OSU and Auburn.

SMU, Stanford, and Cal all belong in the 10-14 range (I guess it would be 10-17, with UVa sliding down to 18th).

NC State has no offense. They are rated too high with just half a team. They are 13th at best.

That Duke defense is really good, perhaps as good as Clemson’s. I feel good about where I have them ranked until about week 10 when I do this again.

SMU got a good QB and may win the AAC. I would rank them somewhere in the 8-10 range.

Every team that swapped QB or coach looks a lot better. NCST appears the most broken out of that group.

NCSU is a disaster on offense. Like FCS bad.
