Good start by NMSU. Keeping it going is where we struggled. Gotta play consistent. Get some stops, move the ball.

About as bad of a start as you can have for Sam Houston. Can't let Pavia get going. Make him beat you with his arm but you can't let him run like crazy like he is. He's a hot and cold QB and not a good sign if he is locked in.

I know I am biased, but there was no way that was targeting. Glad it was overturned. Great catch by the receiver.

Great start by the Aggies. Still waiting for that vaunted SHSU defense to show up.

New Mexico State playing great. Sam Houston can't get out of their own way right now.

Fun but odd thing about this game. I went to NMSU back in the late 90s and early 2000s. They were not good. Left Las Cruces for grad school at the University of Delaware. They won the I-AA National Championship that year over Colgate with a young coach who had come in after a legend, KC Keeler. It is fun to see him on the sidelines tonight.

Not that it was egregious or anything but, why was that not PI in the end zone in 3rd down? Clearly hits him before the ball and didn’t have his head turned? Anyway, some poor play calling, IMO once they got inside the 10.

GO AGGIES!!!

That one was closer to targeting that the one called earlier in the game.

True but I don’t think either were really targeting. Just a good luck trying to dislodge the ball.

GO AGGIES!!

I agree, I did not think that 2nd one was. FG NMSU. 20-0.

Is this thing on? Where are the SHST fans to tell us about their defense, how they should be 37-0 in FBS and how it’s a disgrace to lose to the likes of NMSU?

Not sure if it is NMSU defense that is playing really well, or SHSU offense that is really struggling.

That punt return would have been a great way to go into the half. Too bad.

I wish Sam Houston all the best, but I think moving up to D1-A as a major mistake

I know a lot of their fans thought so including some on here....I have not kept up with the feelings on that now that it has happened, but I don't see how they will compete long term

again this is not a dig at the university, their fans, or their program it is just a reality that they are a smaller school relative to a lot of D1-A programs and especially the ones in Texas.....their facilities were pretty much good D1-AA facilities and they did not have massive support even when they were winning in D1-AA....I think their administration made a major mistake

I think you missed the memo that it would be pathetic for SHSU to lose to a team as lowly as NMSU.

SHST was “this” close to their 6th sack of the year. Aggies had 7 against FIU last week…07-coffee3

That one really might be called as targeting.

If it is overturned I would assume it is because he got his head down far enough.
