RE: It doesn't matter who's to blame
You can't solve the problem without addressing the root cause. There is no viable two-state solution becuase there are not two viable states. If you go to the pre-1967 borders, Israel is 11 miles wide at its narrowest point, and the high ground is on the other side of the border, which is not defensible militarily, and Palestine is not viable economically. Any effort from there to make one side more viable necessarily makes the other less so.

Europe took its outcasts (Jews) and the Arabs took their outcasts (Palestinians) and sent both to a country that is not big enough for both. And they don't understand why they don't play well together.

I did some reading on the formation of Israel last night. I thought that it was the Brits' fault, but, in actuality, it was all on Truman. He wanted a Jewish State, and, despite numerous warnings of the dangers, he decided that help create the new Jewish State in Israel in 1948. We don't feel like we can walk away from Israel and all the terrible issues in the Middle East because WE STARTED THE NEW ERA OF WARFARE THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. Which is too bad, b/c so many of the people over there seem hell bent on killing each other. Today, it's the Hamas fighters committing new atrocities. What will Israel do in response? How many entire city blocks will be leveled in Gaza? Will 50k civilians die in the crossfire? 150k? 250k? How do you apportion blame when military personnel hide in the midst of civilian zones, guaranteeing that many civilians will die if the enemy identifies and takes out a legitimate military target?

I remember how I felt after 9/11, and we had to send people halfway around the world to get our revenge. There might not be a gaza strip at all in 6 months.

You do realize that Isreal was a nation, in that land, THOUSANDS of years before the Muslim religion was even born. You know this, right?

But yeah...1948. 03-lmfao
Pretty much yeah. But it's somebody's "fault" that Jews got their own nation. The use of the word "fault" reveals a lot about your mind. It just goes to show how stupid otherwise "intelligent" people can be.

It doesn't matter who's to blame
Eventually some of y'all are going to realize that trying to assign blame here is an exercise in futility. This is the will of God playing out in real time over history. We don't need to understand all the how's and why's.

Eh, I know a little. But, still have a long way to go.

The key is not just believing a "good chunk of it", but repenting of your sins and submitting your life to the Author of it.

Yeah, so? There's a few stories in the OT, which yeah...I tend to doubt. I'm a flawed Christian, like most of us. But that's the beauty of the New Testament and the New Covenant.

We are ALL beyond flawed. We are all COMPLETELY ROTTEN to the core.

I just have a difficult time with "believing good chunks of the Bible". It's either God's inerrant/infallible Word or it isn't.

It claims that it is...

Actually the left opposes all religions. The atheists/agnostics among them have control the the Democratic Party, just as the extremes on every other issue do.

The rank and file left are atheists/agnostics. Those pulling the strings are either Muslims or using the Muslims to their own devices.
