the NIL deal will fade soon ,,,the donor will find out that recruiting is difficult :)

For us going forward it will be getting a Portal or JUCO for immediate help. Then HS players to develop that we will probably lose if they are good because folks don't believe in investing in the NIL. With us we cannot compete using NIL to get players. We need it for player retainage.

This sounds about right. We’re not going to outbid anyone, but we can hopefully retain players that have bought in to the program. I could also understand recruiting transfers with three left to play as they may have to sit out a year if they transfer again.

If it were 4 years ago, people would have money to burn.

Flip Rudolph in the portal sucks but understandable per 247sports

will be shocked if he lands somewhere at the AAC level. will likely be a FCS guy. honestly Im glad he entered and free up a spot.

Good not great a good one year rental for someone, basically knew he was out when skull was out. I can't wait til all blueshirts and former walkons are off the 85. Ready to see who else is out honestly

Unfortunately, we are stuck with them as nobody else will want them. I hope Dilfer doesn't repeat the nonsense that they were better than anybody else in the portal.

That's when I felt Dilfer was in over his head, just ended the last class with former walkons after it started out pretty good. Didn't want to jump all over him year one.

I tried to say years ago what precedent you’d be setting if you decide to burn scholarships on walkons in places of need. Folks tried getting me banned here and in the Facebook groups. You can probably win the G5 leagues with Bama walk on talent, but not ours. Our walkon on talent(overall) is not FBS level. There have been exceptions. Darious Williams, Brontae Harris, Lee Beebe, and Adam Lepkowski. The good thing about Lee and Adam, is that they are still young in careers, with more time to continue development. I just don’t want us settling like, “ah, well, we already have answers in-house. Why try to recruit more than I have to?” That doesn’t breed competition, it lowers your team ceiling.

You can’t do that after going 6-6. You can’t do that after going 4-8.

Dilfer not lying when he's saying in house answers, plenty guys are currently out of position

We've had great walkon talent but after a your top 10 walkons you're right talking 10/ 40 to 45 so guys. Some years 18/40 to 45 were talented.

Would like us not to move on from guys so quickly unless it's grades or personal life things. Thought guys like Trinity Bell former in-state TE Tennessee bounceback would be here by now. A JuCo LB last cycle from Florida still recruited. The Tennessee bounceback CB we offered. Think a few more was still available this year
