Based off what we’ve seen this season, a ton.

Colorado has a better record than last season, and us04-cheers this season so... Eddie George in his 3rd season looks to finally learned the 1 AA.

UAB offerred the Mountain Brook RB back in July...

Missed it, is good? Still hoping for Nero though.

RE: 2024 Football Recruiting
I wonder if Posse will be our only QB or if we go after a portal guy with a name to him. I don’t think it will happen but I do worry slightly that Zeno could go somewhere bigger. He’s been fantastic with a mediocre line. He could grad transfer if I’ve got my years correct. I think he stays but I wonder if that’s a thought.

RE: 2024 Football Recruiting
I think the reason behind the QBs we saw was again Trent Dilfer’s motto of winning the current team and developing a house that’s already been built. I think over played that slightly because we had some holes we didn’t address because we put some faith in guys already here. That being said I wouldn’t be shocked to see the staff have a little more cut throat approach this off season. They know who has it and who doesn’t and what is needed. It would have been slightly hypocritical to talk about how great of a foundation we have and talent to then go and recruit positions we have known starters at. Not saying I agree or disagree

I hope we get the 6'7 QB HS kid in GA, but six QBs will be alot unless Zeno leaves.

Why on earth would we not do everything we can to retain Zeno? His stats are good, will be better with a better OL and more time. More experience will help with the interceptions.

Another school with a better funded NIL may see his potential lure him away. As I understand it, Dilfer would help pack his bags for him if it is the right opportunity.

RE: 2024 Football Recruiting
To be clear in my big message earlier. I see no scenario where we don’t try to keep Zeno or go replace him. I just worry he gets poached. There is a rumor that Pratt might be gone at Tulane and I could see it here too

LB Caden Marshall set a final 4 of Austin Peay, MTSU, Tennessee state, UAB

Keep in mind we’ve offered a half dozen at the position over the last month.

I like all of the juco offers I am seeing.

Developing the young guys is a great long term strategy, but we need immediate help AND depth at almost every non-wide receiver position.

I've often though that maybe he shouldn't have been so effusive in his praise for the DC, either. He is going to have to eat major crow on that I think. I think that will probably end up being his first true test as a leader/HC. Will he move on from the brightest football mind he knows? Or will he stay loyal? Same question for the special teams coach.

Bill was able to do that early on and luckily he had way easier schedules. Now the schedule is 2x as difficult. Would like to see some sought after additions at spots that we are already suffering from having no better than walkon talent.

If we don’t get better at LB or Safety, we’ll be stuck at below .500 for years to come. Need a leader on defense. I know it’s partially coaching as well.

I now we have had some good players that have either transferred from smaller schools or had smaller school offers, but I'm tired of going after the same recruits that FCS and lower level FBS schools are after. I want to see recruits that have some lower/mid tier P5 offers or offers from our peers (Tulane, Memphis, etc), not offers from Austin Peay.

They can't all be diamonds in the rough, sometimes they are just rough.

I spoke with a few people about that very same thing. Dilfer hyped him up too much and now it looks terrible. Now we'll see if we're in the same situation of will he be a coach or a friend. He should've brought him in as an assistant or coordinator and given him time to learn the ropes in college. Will his friend be willing to take a demotion?

either way, it'll all get evaluated at the end of the season. Hope we win these last 4.

Would y’all prefer me to wait until the spring to start a 2025 recruiting thread or do it now?

I can keep record here of happenings for the time being.

I’d start a 25 thread. If we keep them “focused” on recruiting we can pin them.
