Any verifiable evidence of these “death threats”?

By all accounts we're having a bad season, yet we have the same record in conference as y'all. Interesting.

I think App is probably going to have to make the move if they want to win any more titles. It's always hard to move on from a guy like Clark (we've done that with Mike Sewak and Chad Lunsford) but sometimes that hard choices have to be made if you want more than 6-6 and 7-5.

The December signing day has complicated everything with coaching changes. Not sure that waiting until the buyout drops in December is an option. I'm also curious if any promises were made to Frank Ponce and Scot Sloan that Clark would get at least a couple more years. It can be hard to get good coordinators to come in if you know the head coach's seat is on fire and he might be gone after one season.

The poster saying they should have just stayed FCS is just wild to me.

I have to say, it's nice being in a conference with other fanbases that overreacts to losses.

Gotta give him credit... He's been lurking 11 years waiting for this opportunity lol

We hear a lot from AppState coaches about the middle 8 minutes. By all account, we have won the middle 8 in every game we’ve played this year. The problem is it’s the “first 15” that are the problem for this team. Haven’t bothered to check but I think nearly every team we’ve played won or tied the first quarter. Root of the problem is, in my opinion, a lack of a game plan to start the game. From my perspective, I see base defense for at least two possessions, and vanilla offense… plan seems to be that we probe first two possessions to determine both how to defend and how to attack. We’re not good enough for that. Sure enough, we execute and tighten up as the game wears on, but it takes half the game for us to catch up, and then it’s a dog fight down the stretch. I’d like to see us come out of the gate with a specific strategy to exploit opposing teams to start the game. We’ve proven we can adjust if we need to, but we are literally digging our own hole so far this year. Our opponents are exploiting this and we need to change… not a single game left on the schedule is a guaranteed win. Time to adjust… if we do, we might have a chance to get to 7 wins this year… while no game is a guaranteed win, all the games left are winnable.

My point is: it’s not the blocked FG or the stripped ball at the end of the game that does us in. It’s allowing teams to go up two scores that puts us in this position in the first place. Clearly we can’t afford that. It’s great that we don’t get rattled and make any game we play competitive… the piece we are missing is: let’s not put our team in that position to begin with. I really place that on the coaching staff and how they prepare. That doesn’t mean I’m wanting anyone’s job… it just means that we need make some changes starting now.

Y’all ain’t gotta be so thin skinned, obviously it was said in jest. If I’d known you couldn’t take a joke, any better than you can take a loss, I wouldn’t have bothered . . ..

. . . and then “lurking” that’s all you got . . . Weak.

Seems like we’d have the same results if we planned wrong and adjusted, but higher chance of stopping them early if you choose a plan from the get go. What’s to lose?
