I did not think the transfer from UVA was any good when I saw him play last year. I think it was a good decision to make the switch now.

It would have been a good decision to bench him in the second half against Louisville.

I don't know what happened to him. He played so well for Bronco Mendenhall at UVA, then fell apart when he left.

The thought was that pairing him with his old OC from UVa would spark magic. It didn't work.

I don't anticipate any drastic changes. The OL is a disaster.

Whatever NC State saw in him last offseason is anyone’s guess. Perhaps to reunite him OC Robert Anae with whom he was 11-11 with in 2 seasons.

Brennan Armstrong is UVA/NCST's Reggie Ball. Change my mind.

Part of what you are seeing at NC State is the effect of Mack Brown at UNC and his recruiting of offensive flash. That's a specialty of his and he need only get 2-3 kids from NC a year to degrade what NC State has. Our offensive line is the thinnest it has been in the last 15 years so when we lost our center, we lost most of the line. Our WR's are simply not up to snuff for the top of the ACC. They are all at UNC, Clemson, WF, or Tennessee.

The biggest problem is no large punishing running back. That backloads pressure on the QB.

The blue-collar no flash m.o. doesn't appeal to a segment of today's 18-20 year olds and the approach to all games is to hold the opponent to 10-14 points and then outscore them.

The staff wanted to red shirt Morris this year, hence BA.

The genesis of this was losing three starting QB's to injury last year and the history of the waste of Phillip Rivers when if he had redshirted a year, he would have been there with a top 5 national defensive team.

He threw for a million yards in Anae's system at UVa in 2021. Then Anae went to Cuse and one was of the few offenses to up and down the field on our D last year.

Enter Anae when Tim Beck, previous OC, went to the be head man at Coastal Carolina.

Leary goes to Kentucky and now NCSU is looking at the only returning QB being a redshirt frosh, MJ Morris, coming back with just 4 games worth of experience.

Armstrong made a ton of sense on paper but it hasn't worked. At all.

Armstrong and Jurkovec seem to be on similar career paths.

I thought Armstrong was a good QB at Virginia a couple of years ago.

But, what I have seen of him this season is a massive regression.

Negative. Tim Beck, NCSU's OC for the last several years prior, moved on to Coastal Carolina to be the head coach this past offseason. Anae replaced Tim Beck at NCSU.
