It's usually a 2-for-1 deal, The Sooners have played there a few times.
OSU does the same thing, and is restarting the 2-for-1 series either next year or the following.
It's sort of a support for another in-state program, and often the football deal also includes scheduling basketball games too.
You're right those games are usually filled with Sooners and/or Cowboys, but they jack the ticket prices and make a ton of money off of the other fan bases. Plus it helps them to meet the 17,000 per game attendance average required for D1-A membership.

Yeah, we help subsidize UNI but we'll never play in their dome. Absolutely hate scheduling them because they're really just hawkeye fans dressed in purple. Let Iowa's B1G money pay for that crap.

Dude, what gives? UNI is a D1-AA team, they are not like Tulsa at all. Zero comparison.
Everybody pays FCS teams to come to their stadium, but FBS teams typically require a reciprocal game. (for P5 it's usually 1-for-1, for G5 teams it's often 2-for-1)

My goodness.
Yes. I'm aware of the difference. Sorry- I should have said, "Thankfully, we never have to play there."
Some schools can afford to refuse the reciprocal game. You'll never see Iowa playing at Northern Illinois or Arkansas State. Hence my initial surprise that Oklahoma would play in Tulsa, but- it's a short trip and essentially another home game with a smaller crowd. Makes sense.

I don't think a P5 team has ever played at a D1-AA team's stadium. I'd be interested to hear about it if you know of a time (within the past 20 years)
Oh I'm sure it's happened before- well over 20 years ago. "Iowa State College" played at Drake stadium in Des Moines back in the day. So did Oklahoma A&M when you were members of the Missouri Valley Conference. As recently as 1950.

Dude, you really, really need to focus. I clearly said P5 and the past 20 years.
In 1978, the NCAA split the Division I football programs in two. So D1-AA did not even exist in the 50's.
Regrettable UC plays at Oxford (Miami) next year. Basically once every third year. Only 40 mile trip.
In 2025 we go to WKU - Bowling Green KY. IU went last year. Decent 200 mile road trip. Make a weekend by going to Corvette Museum and nearby Mammoth Cave.

Good lord, man. I'm trying to have a conversation and you just desperately want to paint me as an idiot with your silly little game of semantics. Here- watch this, jerkface:

Mammoth Cave is awesome. Even during the summer, the temperature is much lower inside the cave than outside, so those of you who are cold-natured might want to have a jacket or sweatshirt with you. The history about the cave is fascinating.
Feel like this needs to be said - Good game to WVU this past weekend. You guys 100% deserved to win. Our offense was MIA in that third quarter.
Also, feel the need to emphasize that those few idiots in the student section do not represent the fan base/alumni and I truly hope everyone who was injured makes a full and speedy recovery. Never want to see anyone get hurt.

WHAT?
Couple of bad injuries to WVU players during the game. One was carted off and spent the night in the hospital (saw on Twitter he is doing better), the other had to be placed in an air cast. Unfortunately a few TCU fans were booing the second player who had the air cast. I'm assuming they thought he was faking, but who knows.
No excuse and that's not the TCU I know and love. Feels like some of the current students got a little spoiled from our run to the Natty game last year.

thanks for the clarification, I read your statement to say that fans were injured by the student section. Which is something completely different than what you apparently meant.
