I feel for ya, Jags. That's a gut punch.

Still some hope...

Damnit Jags…seriously? Sigh. As a Troy person I was actually rooting for you. We were rooting for you. We were all rooting for you.

You know the SBC has come a long way when this feels like an FCS loss. CMU is known for being scrappy like this though. I imagine there must have been some OK State hangover. As far as the SBC is concerned, this is probably the worst outcome because now USA will be on the warpath for the rest of the season. Had they won by a field goal, they may not have learned their lesson.

I changed games for a while earlier because they looked like they had this one sewn up, early on. Then I see it's a field goal lead for CMU at 24-27. wtf

I’d take the time to have empathy for ‘em, but we kinda have our hands full right now.

I will say that it's very hard to win a big game and not crap your pants the next game. Marshall fans know this. Troy fans know this from 2017 after we beat LSU and lost to the jags the next game.

Beating a P5 doesn’t make a team great.

My theory after week 1 might be true. Texas State and Colorado were operating with the element of surprise. With so many transfers it must have been a nightmare to prepare for. Now there's tape, and teams are figuring it out.

We have OD-scored 10 and won by 1 against the FCS-U next week for homecoming. Think that doesn't scare the sht out of us after beating VT?

The second QB that played for CMU needs to be QB1. I’m not going to make excuses. We lost. The unsportsmanlike penalty that set CMU up to win at the end instead of going for the tie was a heart breaker. On the previous CMU touchdown we had their QB all but sacked but he managed to stay upright and get like a 75/80 yard touchdown. That’s when I knew it probably was just their day. We’ve all seen teams just have those type days. Hats off to CMU but I’m still sad.

It really is crazy how often it happens. Everyone knows it's a thing, everyone knows they need to be aware of it and treat it like every other week, but you still see it so often.

I agree with you on Bauer. We have a young team, but we've played a tough schedule and held our own against Notre Dame last week.

You've got a good team and your rivalry game against Troy this season should be a great game, maybe for the SBC West Division.
