SMU Fundraising
So SMU raised a 100 million dollars in a week and we all know they haven't been really relevant since the 80's. I just wished our beloved university had the support and donors that they have. Instead of all the bickering how about we all chip in a donate to the university. If they can raise a hundred million, then I wonder how much we can raise. The university can do a telethon and get coaches and players to call alumni and lets get our university the financial backing we all know they deserve.

You have to be fundraising for something your fans and alumni really want.

There are over 5 million people in the DFW area, 25 Fortune 500 headquarters, over 4,000 multi millionaires and 27 billionaires.

SMU freaked out when TCU made it to the Championship last year and decided to buy their way into the Big Boys Club.

I think the thought of a better conference inspires people to give more. The thought of being top misfit of the isle of misfit toys is not as inspiring.

how come our graduates in the service and education industries don't give as much as SMU graduates in the energy and high technology industries?

endowments
SMU $1.9 BILLION
Memphis $220 million

The OP is just trolling as most in here knows that we don't have near the same level of graduates with deep pockets.

So we can raise $170M for NIL but we don't have the resources to build facilities? There goes that excuse.

I'd think that if Memphis could tell people that it was getting an invite to the ACC or B12 that money would also pour in from exited rank and filers.

To be fair - right now it feels like (not saying it's true) giving money to Tiger athletics is pouring money down a black hole.

But if Memphis were to announce inclusion like SMU did there would be an immediate huge bump in the buzz around the program and in donations, recruiting, and fan / alumni engagement.

I have a thousand right now to contribute to them. What about you? This isn't the first time I've donated to them either.

I'm not trolling as you say. I am being sincere in my attempt to gather us fans, and alumni to actually donate to the school we all know and love. You taking personal shots calling me a troll is lame af. You could have kept your comment.

I agree too but would Memphis be able to forgo any payment like SMU did for however many years just for inclusion? I'd gladly donate more. We all know we deserve to be at the big boy table.

Sure since SMU will make more from CFP funds & NCAA credits in the ACC than it would sharing in all revenue in the AAC, we could do it too.
