I just wished our beloved university had the support and donors that they have. Instead of all the bickering how about we all chip in a donate to the university. If they can raise a hundred million, then I wonder how much we can raise. The university can do a telethon and get coaches and players to call alumni and lets get our university the financial backing we all know they deserve.

We are in a campaign right now. All you have to do is give. Be part of the solution.

Unfortunately a substantial group of normal supporters have begun to see continued financial support as enabling ineptitude.

You can start right now… how much you in for?

I'd think that if Memphis could tell people that it was getting an invite to the ACC or B12 that money would also pour in from exited rank and filers.

To be fair - right now it feels like (not saying it's true) giving money to Tiger athletics is pouring money down a black hole.

But if Memphis were to announce inclusion like SMU did there would be an immediate huge bump in the buzz around the program and in donations, recruiting, and fan / alumni engagement.

I agree too but would Memphis be able to forgo any payment like SMU did for however many years just for inclusion? I'd gladly donate more. We all know we deserve to be at the big boy table.

Sure since SMU will make more from CFP funds & NCAA credits in the ACC than it would sharing in all revenue in the AAC, we could do it too.

As a side question - how many NCAA credits and CFP funds will SMU actually earn by making the NCAA tournament and CFP in the next seven years? Doesn't it look like SMU boosters are paying hundreds of millions of dollars to sign SMU up for a conference welfare program? Maybe road trips come with food stamps as well.

All that cash and still can’t field a decent football or basketball team.

0 AACCG appearances
Penny knocked them off the bubble at end of 2022, took their best player and won the AAC tournament in 2023

Isn't that what most "power" conference teams are? Basically welfare schools where the welfare is making them rich

That's why the true break away in college football will be 30 or so teams. It will be a professionally run league with national matchups every week for every team, paid players with contracts, and and less ties to actual institutions of higher learning.
