Thanks, King Seven-Wood.
Been here over 20 years with nothing to show but a sexual harassment charge.
I heard he's still enjoying the heck out of that taxpayer Hennessy and Petron in his pressbox suite.
But the vawls placed him here and it has worked out perfectly for them.

As we look at the picture, McPhee is basically another blemish in the mediocrity of it all. To keep him around is to suffer fools happily. Not getting rid of him as much as acknowledges that higher education here is the provenance of a sexual predator who lacks the mental and moral makeup to lead as he should. Like John Shumaker and Wade Gilley, no image will really ever attach to McPhee's name other than that of a raving bozo who was overcome by middle-aged stupidity.
If anyone wants to improve higher education here, they will have to improve the caliber of its leaders. Until someone takes care of Sidney McPhee, higher education in this state will continue to enjoy the reputation it so richly deserves. It will remain, basically, a sad joke

RE: US NEWS BEST COLLEGES CUSA RANKINGS
Any system where 20% of the trade is done by academic gurus and elites based on their personal whims is extremely flawed. I don't trust US News and World Report one iota. Prestige plays a huge role, millions of students have been adversely impacted by the rankings competition because of the actions of the audience that cares most deeply about the numbers – college presidents and their boards of trustees, and by extension, their admission offices. The formula can be gamed. College raise their prices to give out merit scholarships which hurt lower and middle income students. Colleges also court students they have no intention of accepting to rig their rejection rates. US news relies on proxies for education quality which are dubious at best. Navy, Baylor, and Emory are just a few that were caught cheating in recent years, but many are not caught. US News rewards schools that spend freely and the rankings juggernaut doesn’t care if that requires universities to boost their prices and graduate students with staggering debt.
I prefer Niche academic rankings, which come in quite different. And by the way, in Niche, most all Sun Belt schools are below CUSA schools:
Niche Academic Rankings:
174. FIU
180. LA. Tech
264. New Mexico St.
386. Liberty
397. MTSU
692. Jax. State
708. Sam Houston St.
739. Kennesaw St.
786. UTEP
819. WKU

sstaedtler88: I share your distrust of "rankings" and, in particular US News & World Report! But they've been around forever. Unfortunately, there's a helluva lot of criteria like university 'Mission statements" that they clearly ignore. And a Lot of "Elitist BS" they overemphasize. On the other hand, never heard of Niche Academic Rankings. Who publishes this particular ranking?

Niche says they post academic ratings based off statistics from US Department of Education and reviews. I'm not saying their ratings are great either. There are some plusses and some minuses. I hate rankings because to me, they are very, very subjective and sure to lead to political disagreements.
