FIRE THOMAS HAMMOCK
This era of NIU football has been a depressing regression from the successful teams we once had. Losses are not the biggest problem- it’s the lack of recruiting and horrible coaching. We all know NIU can’t afford to fire Hammock before his contract runs out. Does anyone know when that is? Of course, that assumes STF doesn’t extend him. Lol.

Thomas Hammock is NIU football's equivalent of Carol Owens. A great and successful alum who deserved a chance but unfortunately became a failed experiment.

Hammock promised USDA Prime Steak...and delivered Vienna sausage

...I grew up on Vienna sausage

I'm not going back to eating Vienna sausage...

The facts say Hammock is a failure as head coach. In the 120+ year history of NIU football Hammock’s win % is squarely in the mix for worst NIU football coach in program history.

That makes me feel sick. I do however, feel good that NIU let him get fully integrated and found out who he was as a coach. Most schools or even pro teams, cut guys off way too quickly.

He does need to go if we have another losing season.

The past excuses of injuries, young teams, etc. need to end. He chose to go young and injuries are part of the game.

Four losing seasons in 5 years is cause for being fired.

Who knows if STF secretly extended his contract.

Hard to believe NIU might become a bottom feeder in the MAC. Let’s hope not. Is Charlie Sadler available.

If he wins the MAC, I think we give him another year. If not, let him go.

TH has excellent young men who go to class and get grades. I am serious. Question results on the field. But people need to stop the name calling (not you MGMFIn. but others. I am proud of these players and coaches.

Academically, Carey had the football team at a higher annual GSR than Hammock.

Hammock already owns more losses than Sadler.

We can call the highest paid employee of NIU whatever we want.

Who the hell cares. This day and age of college football is about money. Win win win and win some more $$ will come that way. Not a single person cares about GPA when signing contracts for a coach it’s based on wins.

RE: FIRE THOMAS HAMMOCK
Worst win % all time in NIU history for coaches with over 30 games coached.

Sadler: .327
Culpepper: .330
Hammock: .382

Hammock also has the worst win % for an NIU coach in 30 years. Hammock has straight up sucked as the head NIU coach no matter how you slice it.

Most competent ADs would try to restructure the contract with clauses at this point due to bad play on the field. Iowa just did this last year with their OC due to how bad they were on offense.

They have to average X
Amount of points otherwise his contact is automatically not renewed and let go, unless mutually agree to something.

I don’t know what type of person Charlie Sadler is or was. By chance I had a chance to talk to coach Hammock and his wife on a bus taking us from a rental car company to an airport. Seemed like a very nice genuine person. My Sadler reference was regarding on field team performance only with a heavy dose of sarcasm.

Why would Hammock restructure the deal if it guaranteed him less money?

I suspect Sadler's schedule was tougher too, since we were independent then and didn't have a MAC schedule to depend on for some wins.
