Around the MAC Today.....9-16-23
For the second time this year. I am impressed with Ohio's Defense. Iowa State visiting the Bobcats in Athens Ohio.

Buffalo is getting crushed 24-0 by Falwell U.

Kent St beating up on C Connecticut 21-0.

BC would be beating Florida St if they weren't beating themselves on offense. So many false starts and other offensive penalties.

We’re not the only school. Lots of empty seats on tv in Athens.

Many schools have lots of open seats and then report a # way higher. NIU needs to stop being so honest with its numbers and inflate them like most other schools do.

There's a lot of bad kicking in college football. Iowa State is 0-2 on FGs and Ohio 1-2. The BC kicker missed a PAT wide left.

Regardless of how this BC game ends - it looks like a nice win for NIU.

Yes and I think Nebraska is a worse overall team which is why I have confidence for NIU today.

I would agree. BC is better than Nebraska.

BC screwed that up with yet another penalty, they were about to get the ball back. They really killed themselves with penalties in this game.

18 penalties for 132 yards.

No. I said it before the SIU game, SIU is a better football team than BC.

Speaking of other games around the country…

Do any of the guys who left NIU even play? As far as I can tell just Cox starts? Rayner is a backup at Kentucky. Rodgers is a backup at Rutgers. Is anyone a starter any where? Or did they just decide pine is better than playing time?

Probably not. The P5 teams want depth. They promise playing time and probably know they will be a great back up for the team. The more the his happens to players that leave NIU is better for TH keeping guys IMO

Side note: Tulsa looks worse than last year. Getting smoked in the first quarter and their QB looks horrible.

Cox is Kentucky's starting LT. I'm sure Rayner is getting plenty of time as a backup at LB.

Ducker barely gets carries at Memphis this season. Terron Kellman, who transfered from NIU, has more carries at Charlotte than him.

Jaiden Credle is at MTSU and appears to be their #2 or 3 RB based on his carries.

They have been reporting better attendance than NIU in recent seasons but there is no way that can be real if one side of the stadium is closed.

There's some sort of structural issues they need to repair on the one side so they aren't allowing anyone on that side of the stadium.

I was watching parts of one game - didn’t notice rayner so I found that curious. Glad if he’s getting snaps.

To update: Rayner has no stats. So I am not sure how much PT he’s seeing. He made a poor decision.

Duke is ranked in top 25 and there are a TON of open seats at their game.
