Exclamation Best place to park at Protective for non-deck, non-tailgate visitors
Where's the best place to park for first-time visitors to Protective Stadium?
I have some family coming to the game that have never been to Protective or the BJCC and I won't be able to give them my parking deck pass.

That might be a good option for them, but still would like some recos for good parking around Protective if they don't want to take a shuttle.

If they are comfortable walking a few blocks, I've had guests park at the Birmingham library lot, one of the lots near it, or on the street surrounding it or Linn park.

If they're willing to walk a bit there's a lot of easy places. The Boutwell parking deck comes to mind. There is a lot of street parking up around City Hall that should be open and free.

When you think about how far away folks park for a 'Bama game it's hilarious how many people say there is no parking at Protective.

We get parking passes so I have not had to try it, but I seem to remember that you could reserve/pay for deck parking places in advance.

Edit - yes, you can. I don't know if they can do it day of game but it's worth a try to be as close as the red lot.

"Single game parking in BJCC lots will be available for pre-purchase on Ticketmaster when possible for UAB game days and typically in the Red Garage."

I don't think I ever walked less than a mile to an Auburn game as a student, yet people always complain about the parking situation at Protective/BJCC. Truly fascinates me.

Great, helpful post all around.

Parking is easy at Protective. Go to some other stadiums around the country and report back.

Used to take the shuttle, then figured out how easy it is to park on the street north of the stadium. Never more than two blocks away. And free.
