That's odd as this morning's AAC report said the doctors had cleared him to play, but whether he did would be determined by how he feels during pre-game warmups.

Army goes up 37-21 with 6:45 to play. Army is 5 for 5 on 4th down plays. Just pounding the option runs.

Harris may be out with a turf toe but it’s the UTSA defense that is looking bad. Army with a real chance to win. It might help them decide the AAC is a decent spot for football for them too.

Did you miss the 188 yards in passing?

Nope, but 70+% of Army’s plays have been runs.

Unfotunately for Army, UTSA throws a 72 yd TD pass and a 2 pt conversion to make it 37-29. Army goes 3 and out and UTSA has a little more than 4 minutes.

And UTSA goes 3 and out. Army 1st down inside their 30.

Wow, and at home, no less. So much for all the talk about UTSA's great defense.

I’m really not a fan of the AAC adding Army under the condition that the Army-Navy game remains non-conference.

Play it on Thanksgiving weekend like every other normal rivalry game. Army athletics needs to get over itself-and I say this as someone who generally roots for Army and whose grandparents are buried at West Point.

Army finished an insane 7/7 on 4th down attempts if you count a 4th and 7 throw that resulted in a PI and a first down (it’s not included on the stat sheet as a fourth down conversion).

25% passing is a lot for an option team, and while shaky through the air, Army used it effectively and made some quality catches of “non-textbook throws” to really keep the defense scratching their heads.

Disappointed to see a conference mate fall, and it also de-valued our win over Houston (who beat the roadrunners in a close one week 1)

Also probably taking UTSA off my “16 teams to watch” for the final NYD6 bid. They are not mathematically out but with 2 losses already and now headed to Tennessee, they probably are all but out of that chase.

Throw Rice on that list!

It’s hard to tell based on two games, but if JT continues to impress and our defense remains relatively stout, who knows how things could turn out.

It's their one chance to be the only game in town. On Thanksgiving weekend it would get lost in the shuffle.

The schedule is not as tough as it once looked. Tulane and SMU are good teams but UTSA now looks winnable. This Rice season could get interesting. Taking it one week at a time.

I know why they don’t want it on Thanksgiving weekend, but I don’t think it’s fair to single out two teams as untouchable in a conference. IMO, if they want their own weekend, play it week zero.

I think all our remaining games are winnable. I think Frank Harris will be available for UTSA when we play them.

On week at a time seems like a good plan.

Tulane and UTSA both have loses without their starting QBs. So I think we need to be careful there. But yeah, I do think this season could get very interesting.

After two games , the Rice fanbase has a degree of enthusiasm and optimism not often found on South Main this late in a season. I hope it grows with every game. It’s fun to be Optimistic ™.

I also hope this translates into more attendance and interest down the line, especially from the students.
