Weekly Pick Summary:
3 games are unanimous picks: Penn State over Illinois (not a surprise), Kansas State over Missouri, and TCU over Houston (last two somewhat of surprises although Houston did lose to Rice last week and KSU is ranked and Mizzou isn't although I thought SEC bias might have caused some people to pick Missouri). Keep in mind in 2021 everyone picked Penn State to beat Illinois and Illinois won and of course last week everyone picked Alabama to beat Texas.

1 person picked Ohio U to beat Iowa State. I'll say that will either win the award for the Best Pick of the Week or the Worst Pick of the Week!

2 pickers picked Minnesota to win at North Carolina. Both have Big Ten or a Big Ten team as a flair. I'm more Big Ten than most people on CSNBBS and I'm not even picking Minnesota to win this one!

By contrast, 3 picked Virginia Tech at Rutgers. If you told me 10 years ago or even 5 years ago that Rutgers would be favored to beat Virginia Tech, even in Piscataway, I would have said you were crazy. Yet here we are!

4 pickers think West Virginia will win the Backyard Brawl against Pittsburgh, most feel Pittsburgh will win. If CSNBBS isn't pro SEC, it's pro ACC, this isn't surprising. 4 pickers picked Vanderbilt to lose to UNLV out in Vegas. I figured this game would make at least a few of you think.

I try to pick mostly competitive games and get a mix of picks each week. This week didn't work out that well except for two games, Syracuse at Purdue and Fresno State at Arizona State. FrSt and ASU is as close to 50-50 as you can get with 15 pickers, 8 picked Arizona State and 7 for Fresno State. This is pretty bad for a Pac 12 over a G5, you're at home and almost half of the pickers think the G5 will come in to Tempe and beat you. Syracuse and Purdue is also pretty evenly split, Syracuse is a 9-6 road favorite. If I had my way, all of the games would have mostly even pick distribution. But of course there are games I have to pick for various reasons like Penn State at Illinois (both alma maters playing each other) and "Miami Ohio at Miami Florida".
