Both teams are 1-1 coming into the game this week. UAB is favored at 61.1% on espn FPI and UAB at -1.

Cajun fans seem about as optimistic as we are and both need this win.

They "might" win, but they aren't holding this UAB to 10 points, and neither is anybody else not named Georgia! - lol

We can't go 0-2 vs the Belt this year.

It was a 100 yard kickoff return for a TD, but your underlying point is correct.

Desperately need this to stave off the 1-4 start. The back half of the schedule is amenable to getting us to a bowl game, but we needed to split these first two on the Sun Belt tour.

I felt from the time the schedule came out that we needed a minimum of two wins in the first three games if we wanted to have a decent season. Three would be better, but that's out the window now. We really don't want to lose this one.

I had us at 6-6 and splitting either GSU or La. To me this is a must win.

Agreed. If we lose this one, things could unravel quickly. I’m really hoping we see some improvement from the defense this week. If we win this one in some kind of convincing fashion, I think it could potentially springboard us to a few unexpected wins.

We have legit film to study this week and clear weaknesses to address. Offense will be fine, defense needs to step it up, and we need to put Ty Long with a fake mustache in at kicker.

I don't think Ty Long could pull off the fake mustache, so it's time put in Vick Nogel...
But seriously try out some other kickers or let Ty Long's brother have a chance.

New league, new coach, new offense, new assistants, 51 new players, and they've played two games. Y'all need to breathe. Plenty of time to panic if we lose this week and don't look improved over last weekend.

Having film will be a big help. You know damn well that every soul on that defense wants to come out and kick ass on Saturday. I'm looking forward to a fine celebration, myself.

We also haven’t had a healthy roster game yet. Not sure that ever fully exists but let’s see how we look with the majority of the main guys all together in the secondary.

Ding! The offense is way ahead of where it should be this early. It will be elite by the latter part of the season. As far as defense and special teams go, I am just looking for weekly improvement. Hopefully, they will be adequate when we hit the weaker part of our schedule (Navy, South Florida, North Texas, Temple, etc.), and are trying to get to 6 wins. By the way, I went back and watched the LA/ODU game, and they have a really good team. Their QB does have a really weird release though.

It would be easy to play pessimist and pick us to lose. By no means do I think we will solve all our problems in one week. I just think we will play better in all three phases of the game against a team that is not as good as the team we just played.

I just think this team will be night and day where it is now in a few weeks. Enjoy the ride. It will have some ups and downs but I believe we will play our best ball at the end of the season.
