Tigers vs Navy by the numbers
The numbers are still skewed due to all the cupcakes being played the first couple of weeks but they're slowly starting to align.

OL and coverage teams still seem to be a concern.

Especially considering our level of competition.

Near the bottom in SOS so far this year but still allowing 6.5 TFL a game.

The schedule is starting to get a lot tougher over the next few weeks.

The opposing teams have helped us a number of times these first two games, but do not look for help from Navy.

The Midshipmen have ZERO turnovers so far this year.

HOWEVER they've only caused one themself.

So doesn't look to be a high turnover type of game.

Navy doesn't pass much so their sacks allowed numbers are pretty good.

But likewise opposing QBs have often had time for an in game meal when they drop back to pass.

Hopefully this will give Seth time to check his second and third option on each play.

Presently Navy is averaging right at 6.5 more yards on the ground per game than the Tigers while facing ND their first game.

Don't expect the Tigers to hold them to 50 ypg as they have in first two games.

But if our DL and LBs can hold their own then our DBs should be able to fill any gaps and limit the damage.

Here is a major surprise, the Tigers are #1 in the nation in 3rd down conversion defense.

YES YOU HEARD ME RIGHT!!!

Of course can't expect them to hold all opponents to just 13.8% on 3rd downs, but considering our troubles in the past.

Navy has 3 rushers that average right around 40-45 yards per game, with their QB being their #2 rusher.

If the Tigers stay focused in this weeks game and cuts down on the mistakes they shouldn't have any trouble covering the spread.
