Now you are talking about an P5 opening that actually might be open for a MAC coach. Not a powerhouse program, late in the season, kind of like Kansas when they hired Leipold. Candle and Martin might get a look. Creighton? I think NO!

We are hiring a former Indiana U asst coach for special teams and DEs.

Will get the release for Kasey Teegardin.

EDIT:

Bo Alexander was the de coach last year. Wonder if he left or was let go?

He is no longer listed on our coaches roster.

His Twitter account doesn't show a new job.

Chip Kelly reportedly a candidate for OC job with the Commanders so UCLA could potentially come open.

Reminds me of the Herb Haygood and Jay Peterson situation. One minute they were on staff and then they were gone.

You know who I bet notices stuff like this? Up and coming assistants. A CC assistant just got hired by another CC assistant and joins another CC assistant at Ala-friggin-bama.

Bill O’Brien expected to be named Boston College HC.

Chip Kelly is leaving UCLA to be OC at Ohio State so there’s another HC opening.

Pretty tangent, but I'm not disappointed to see 'Bama get our former coaches. Why the love for 'Bama?
.
Lions fan will note that in the last couple years Lions have two 1st rounders and a 2nd from Bama. All future stars.

It says something about CCs eye for assistants that so many guys from his staffs have been able to climb ladders. It's a lot easier to convince a guy to come to Ypsi when the last guy to hold his job is at a P5 school now.

My head is exploding. Based on this movement, one could reasonably infer that the quality of jobs are ranked as follows:

1) Boston College HC
2) Ohio State OC
3) UCLA HC

Personally, I would have guessed that order to be totally inversed. What am I missing? BC ain't Penn St where O'Brien became a hot commodity. NIL collective? Kelly finding a landing spot just before getting axed? What do you guys think?

From everything I've heard, Chip Kelly desperately wanted out of UCLA, and the fans wanted him gone too. He likely took the next best option available to him.

I haven't followed it very closely, but this article speculates most of that.

Apparently Grubb will become OC for the Seahawks.

That was a quick change of addresses...

I know! It is so easy to win at Eastern, what a GD failure he's been. He's the only EMU coach in the last 50 years who just can't seem to win big!

Dear Bob,
Who has done better in the last fifty years? Jim Harkema had four winning seasons in a row in his career as head coach, but couldn't keep it going. What did Eastern have as head coaches during the last fifty years; George Mans, Ed Chlebek, Mike Stock, Jeff Woodruff, Jim Harkema, Ron Cooper, and a few more. Who has done better?

I was being sarcastic because the revered poster with a 50 point rating (absolutely surreal) is suggesting that Chris Creighton is a horrible coach.

That rating really bothers you. Why? What does it matter? You don’t know anything about me, so don’t worry about it.

I actually have great conversations with people on the NIU and WMU boards. Here, not so much. Few people interested in levity and/or reality.

Fair enough. I just don't understand your venom for a coach who truly is one of the bright spots for Eastern athletics both as a person and professionally. He seems like the last person anyone should be attacking! IMO, he has done a very good job at arguably the toughest place to win in DI.
