I havent added Northwestern because i think that guy is keeping the job.
He might be keeping his job...absolutely no thanks to Emoni, though.

By the way i just want to throw this out there : it's sickening to me that the boosters who will be paying jimbo fisher not to coach via donations will get a percentage of that back because its a donation. our federal government is subsidizing this stuff and it just really bums me out.

If this is true, and I suspect it is, I sympathize with you, my liberal friend.

We view things from a different lens, however. Our "federal government" exists only on tax donations from folks like you and me. WE are "subsidizing this stuff" and I find it extremely disgusting as you do. Fix the tax code.

The Athletic lists DeBoer as a candidate for A&M and Grubb a candidate for Boise St and SDSU.

RE: Coaching Carousel Thread 2023
I feel like we're doing this in the wrong order. Yes, we are seeing openings from schools x, y, z, but what schools do we think would actually take on CC? EMU and CC seem like an astonishing fit that would be hard to duplicate at, say, Texas A&M or MSU.

Who could we actually lose CC to?

So the purpose of this thread is less about CC being poached but rather the big picture. These openings WILL affect the MAC at large. CC will lose assistants as part of this. And maybe - JUST MAYBE - a school will open up that would seriously look at CC. It's all a chain reaction.

The type of school i've always been afraid of is like a Kansas or Indiana. where 8-4 gets you a lifetime contract.

Had the season gone better I'd be worried, but I don't foresee CC being in the mix for any of these initial openings.

Jason Candle seems to be the hot MAC coach, his name has been linked with Michigan State and Syracuse.

I know we took a good thumping from Toledo this season but I hope Jason Candle stays there. I believe he’s an above average coach who caught the MAC down this season.

Sounds like Oregon State HC Jonathan Smith is the favorite for Michigan State. Could be announced as soon as tomorrow.

Indiana has fired Tom Allen. They could do a lot worse than Chris Creighton

Tom and Chris are good friends and their styles too similar. IU will pay big bucks to buy out Allen's contract.

RE: Coaching Carousel Thread 2023
Had CC met expectations of 'The Standard' going say 8-4 or with a bowl win another 9-4 then I think CC would be given serious consideration for a few of these jobs. He would have had 18-8 over the last 2 seasons and that would be attractive. This 6-6 season is enough to keep him in Ypsi in my opinion. Happy to have him despite my frustration at times this year.

Does CC want to move now with his children in a local high school? My gut tells me no.

His last child might be a senior, and let's be real for 6X what he's currently making.....YES! CC is a hard sell though, he hasn't won the MAC in 10 seasons, and he regressed this season as well. But, Indiana isn't an easy job, but either was Kansas, but CC isn't in the same hemisphere as Leipold period! Buffalo won 10 games once, and in 2020 they were ranked in the top 25! CC, doesn't have those same results.
