A State's Stadium
Overall I was very impressed with the stadium and the area around it. We accidentally ended up by the student entrance and there was a cool tailgate area under the trees. The bowels of the stadium and the concessions were lacking, but the interior with the waterfalls and trees were a nice way to take up space. Wasn't sure what expect going in, but I really enjoyed the whole experience.

I have made that walk from the paid parking area to the stadium too many times. I am grateful they added a shuttle from the basketball arena this year. I will continue to make this road trip as long as they keep the shuttle in place.

I wish we could just pick up their stadium and drop it somewhere off Zach Curlin or on Southern. Exact right size and setup. Although probably tough to do it on Southern with new rec center now.

It gave me high school vibes.

When putting into perspective with the liberty bowl, it really makes you realize how big our stadium is.

With one of the best home field winning percentages in the G5 I assume the allure and atmosphere of our big sexy really has helped us. 03-wink

RE: A State's Stadium
How many Tiger fans were in attendance?

I'll never forget the comeback in Jonesboro we had over there in 2004, the Vogel sack causing the scoop in score 04-rock

And never forget us having a 31-7 halftime lead and ended up the losing the game 01-lauramac2

RE: A State's Stadium
My guess would be around 3000-5000 Tiger fans. Unless you're looking in Texas or Georgia, ASU's stadium was way nicer than any high school stadium. Like I said the concessions weren't great, but last time the Tigers played at Neyland I remember buying a hot dog and coke from a lady at a fold out card table.

One thing that stood out was the feel of the crowd. 19000 people in a 30000 seat stadium felt mostly full. The waterfalls and open green spaces helped.

Wishing to have this as an on campus stadium over Liberty Stadium shows how ignorant so many of the OCS only crowd is.

RE: A State's Stadium
It's a decent stadium for them.

Definitely would not trade it for what we have. When we have at least 25K in there, it is usually a very loud place to play, even if it doesn't necessarily look great on television.

We’re so much better off with 35k empty seats in a sterile concrete mausoleum…

It rivals the better new Texas High School stadiums.

And of course, just like clockwork, the pigs show up to sling their crap. Much like the Vol fans.
