The worst loss is more murky, but I pick North Texas’ defeat to bottom feeder FIU.

Agreed, that was a tough one.

Actually, the FAU loss was a surprise with the hype and Herman. Big name coach, paradise, and all that. Ohio is a solid program, but I feel that was a bad loss due to all of the above and the fact it was early season MACTION. Bad for the AAC.

Well, the SBC folks have been trying to tell you that their program over market strategy would payoff sooner rather than later.

The margin of defeat to a wretched opponent gives the nod to North Texas IMO. FAU underperformed to expectations - a lesser demerit (again IMO).

I actually do not disagree. I do not work for ESPN or the AAC so whatever their business model and projections are, so be it. But I would not mind an AAC with program tradition over market. Hell, I wanted Marshall, App State, and Southern Miss over what the AAC invited. Other than UAB (A lot of foundational ties)

Regional, tradition, and already established programs.

Past metics indicate the SBC and AAC will be neck and neck for the tallest midget.

Disappointed we didn't win but Ohio U is a solid program in football. It's not like a fcs drag or anything . Closer to Marshall type than that who beat ecu by 18

Again no surprise legacy teams get a pass from your type

Willie Taggart ruined our program so it isn't going to be top tier instantaneously.

I know how it works though with these conference moves with plenty. Overreacting to the slightest negative. Mostly ignore any positive or move on quickly from them ( see final 4)

I love how the AAC and SBC go at each other which is fun, but...as the PAC12 proved no-one cares about west coast football. MWC fan's are passionate in their echo chamber, but so isolated. Do not leave out their championship elf.

Ohio is not a solid program. For the past three season they averaged 90th in the Massey Composite. It is a concerning sign when an AAC level school losses to a “D” performing school in the often worst G5 league. FAU has time to right the ship, but for now it lists.

33-21-6 all time vs Marshall. They are both solid programs plenty of times

Is ECU losing by 18 to Marshall just fine and dandy while FAU loses to Ohio by 7 the end of the world ?

Agreed. I said Ohio was solid based strictly on competitiveness and MAC standards. It is a big blow to FAU to lose to anyone outside of a P5, AAC, or maybe SBC or MWC top half. Not to sound like a prude, but C-USA and MAC losses are not up to par with AAC standards.

If Memphis loses to Boise I would say the same thing about the Tigers. That is a bigger game for perception than most realize.

Actually both are solid more often than not. I know if we lost to marshall by 18, we wouldn't get a pass. Just like temple coming from behind to beat a pathetic Akron team by 3 got a pass.

The fans against the newest 6 are going to give the teams here before that a pass while only focusing on any negative of the newest 6. It's an obvious agenda

Correction, Temple barely beating a sorry Arkon from the MAC is not ok. They just get a pass because they won and Temple has been sorry lately. But they got the W. Only reason they get the pass. (Joey Caught It)

Let's be honest here, the new 6 do have something to prove. AAC took potential over results, tradition, and focused on market. It is not fair, but you guys are behind the 8 ball. There is a conference standard to uphold. Maybe in the first year it isn't fair, but the new 6 are replacing passed rivals, passed top 25's, passed prestige in the AAC. It is a dog eat dog competition between the G5's. A drop off in performance separates you further from where we all want to be and the AAC has been that G5 standard.

There is no agenda. Win and then you can whine and make excuses to your heart’s content as far as I am concerned. Deal?

BTW, Marshall’s three year Massey Composite rating is 60.

If we win, you'll skip past it. If we lose, you'll hammer them. I saw people saying winning by 3 tds last week didn't matter too. The bitter ones will never give credit

Again, had we played Marshall and lost by 18, you'd be all over us

RE: How the AAC fared Week 2
We were terrible, IMO.

By my count we were 5-9 yesterday, but two of those wins came vs FCS teams, so 3-9 vs FBS.

Rice did beat Houston, a win over a M2 team. Awesome job by Rice.

Other than that, we were 1-5 vs the M2/P2.

Most troubling, we were 2-4 vs other G5, and keeping G5 supremacy is paramount, IMO.

UTSA beat TX State (SBC)
Memphis beat ARK ST (SBC)

Alright, well done.

North Texas lost to FIU ............. that's bad, they were an 11 point favorite
FAU lost to Ohio ....................... that's bad, they were a home favorite
UAB lost to Georgia Southern ..... GS was the favorite and covered easily
ECU fell to Marshall ................... losing by 18 at home to Marshall, sheesh
