We can't run the ball against an FBS team running a three man line with us having supposedly the best o-line in the MAC???

QB consistently taking too long to throw and almost always throwing to covered receivers?

WTH is going on? And playing as slow as molasses--- for what? I mean, we definitely out managed the clock on them. Do they give a trophy for that?

One of the worst performances I have seen. What a disgusting afternoon of wasting a beautiful day.

It is getting awfully close to calling for this to be Hammock’s last season. He has had one good season and been complete garbage the rest of the way. NIU just got dominated by a marginal FCS school. Completely outplayed in every facet. Hammock is squarely in the running as being one of the worst coaches in NIU history. Frazier needs to go too for running NIU football into the ground. NIU Athletics is complete crap all around.

If this team finishes the season under .500 then Hammock needs to go. He either failed to get the necessary talent or he’s not maximizing the talent he has. Bad in game coaching doesn’t help.

This game cemented it for me that Hammock needs to go. The best game he has coached in my opinion was the MAC title game against Kent in 2021, other than that we are routinely outcoached in all facets of the game. His recruiting has been poor, and it just seems like 5 years has been enough time to evaluate that he isn’t a fit for this level.

This is why I don’t believe the bullcrap assessments you guys make of the players PRE-SEASON. It’s totally worthless until that bell rings.

I am not defending Hammock as I no longer have much confidence in his coaching. That said SIU is not a marginal FCS school; they are a top 25 program and the fact is that the better FCS teams are as good if not better than the lower tier MAC schools.

Thats fairly accurate but NIU had 3 To's to zero and 2 missed FG's and still should have won the game. Did you know NIU had the ball for over 44 minutes??? Ive never even heard of that in game before. Total yards was NIU 360 to SIU 219. SIU isn't on the same level as NIU..they just had a perfect performance...for them

Exactly. You cannot even defend it. SIU is not going to win the Missouri Valley and had no business being in this game. NIU did not have a single lead in this game. SIU went wire to wire against NIU at Huskie Stadium. That is just totally pathetic no matter how you slice it.

I’m as bummed as anyone here, and I see issues all over the place.

Survive the Nebraska game with out serious injury, that’s all I hope for now.
Maybe compete with Tulsa and likely get outplayed by Toledo.

3 picks and I think I saw at least 4 other throws that were pick-able. But we (like all teams) live and die with QB play, he either gets a lot better or we go 3-9 again.

I'd like to think we are synonymous with how our QB does.....but this offenses is in a funk at every position except Rutkiewicz and Carter. I wouldn't even be surprised if NIU beats Nebraska bc there is talent here. But if this O-line doesn't get their stuff together and if Rudolph can't return to form Im expecting 5-7 or maybe 6-6

SIU did exactly what I've expected teams to do every game.Just stop the run because we can't march down the field passing.

A veteran NIU team lost to a veteran FCS SIU team. The talent is all there, we just beat BC. I've lost all confidence in the coaching.

Absolute shame considering with how veteran of a group this is I thought they would make some noise this year. Still can turn it around, but I’m concerned about Rocky’s health and ability. Clearly lost a step after the injury.

Maybe Rocky needs another year to develop so he can read FCS defenses.

Isn't that the truth. If Hammock was scheming against a Pop-Warner team his plan would be to keep it close until the 4th quarter and grind out a win. Maybe take it into overtime where the kids will be passed their bed times.

Yep

I was there. I was actually on the field when the guys came out of the tunnel and there was no energy coming onto the field. And the guys just kind of jogged off at half with hammock practically walking into the tunnel. Just no energy or swag that you would expect after coming home from winning against BC. We had a nice crowd but nothing to cheer about until the fourth quarter. The offense was completely one dimensional. No pass game at all. I thought some people on here were crazy saying rocky should be done after last game but he straight up sucked. I agree that Hammock is probably a failure if he can’t compete this year. He’s run out of runway.
