Now 10-zip Colorado. Maybe Coach Prime is really onto something. And I have a feeling that Nebraska is a much harder job than people realize. It's a small state population-wise and Lincoln is not the easiest place to recruit to.

Plus they were allowed to get away with legalized cheating on scholarship numbers for years. If you remember, they had a run of outstanding linemen (Outland and such) who had been "walk-ons." Why would a lineman with that kind of ability walk on? Well, Nebraska has (or at least had) a state law that every one of the state's 52 counties gets to nominate one HS senior each year who gets to attend the University of Nebraska free. In football-mad Nebraska, that meant that every county sent their best HS football player and every one of those was too happy to accept. And since is was not technically a scholarship, it did not count against scholarship limits. So the Huskers of the Devaney and Osborne years got to load up on big Nebraska farm boy "walk-ons" for their o-lines and d-lines, and they could use all (or almost all) of their schollies on skill position players. NCAA finally cracked down around 2000 and said, "You have to count them in your scholarship numbers," and the Huskers haven't been the same since. Scott Frost tried to revive the walk-on program, but without the wink and a nod for free tuition students, it just isn't the same.

Matt Rhule is not a guy who tends to walk into situations with his eyes closed (witness his hiring Dave Wetzel and Joey McGuire when he too the Baylor job), but I'm not sure he has an answer for this one.

RE: Other games
#12 Utah drives nearly the length of the field to tie Baylor at 13 with just under 2 minutes to play.

And then Baylor throws an INT with 1:29 to play. Utah inside the Baylor 30.

Utah scores on 3rd and 3, but wait, Utah called for holding downfield. Now 3rd and 6.

Utah picks up the 1st down. Baylor out of TOs and tries to let Utah score. Utah RB runs parallel to goal line until scoring with 0:17 to play. Kickoff returned to 27. Utah allows a Baylor receiver to get open and down to the Utah 22 with 1 second left.

Throw to the endzone is incomplete. Utah wins 20-13.

Texas Southern (next week’s opponent) is down 50-3 at the half at Toledo (who is probably better than we realize but that’s still a blowout any way you look at it).

Tulane leads Ole Miss at the half 17-10. Looks like UTSA and Texas State will be tied 10-10 at the half. Tulane looking like they are the team to beat this year in the AAC.

If Frank Harris is out for any length of time, they will be off the list of the AAC favorites.

that was hilarious but not sure how they left LSU out. Nevertheless, i am not sure that it is sensible to bet vs the SEC winning another natl championship this year (at NRG Stadium no less)....
