WSU and OSU file to exclude exiting Unis from voting
The PAC 2 are attempting to effect legal restrictions to the schools leaving the conference from voting on any conference business. That means keeping any rights financial or otherwise. They want the ability to rebuild the PAC and retain all rights as P-5 autonomous conference beyond this year.

This looks like a "grant of rights" to the conference form members that leave before August 1 2024 and also an exclusion of that members right to vote.

They need to add in there that the commissioner has to go. He is a tool

Should be a slam dunk. It's in the contract. Of course, the way the courts are going these days, you never know.

This is just a fight over who controls the leftover carcass of what was once the Pac 12. Not a big deal.

Could be a big deal if they successfully rebuild the PAC. Could be a shake up of the MWC and possibly the AAC.

I don't think so. Aresco went there in August to gauge interest, they had none, Aresco comes back and says AAC 'won't look westward' for expansion.
I think the two leftovers will add MWC schools or join MWC.
In the verbiage of this board - NTR.

Again, could be very much Tiger related. If the PAC absorbs the MWC, they will definitely be the 5th best conference. They may also try to add the best of the AAC too, and that includes us.

The concept is very simple. I get it. But seems the only place we still hear about a Pac 2, top MWC, top ACC merger is on this board.
Aresco tried and has moved on. Twice really - Aresco tried last year too to add a Western wing with San Diego St, Boise, Colorado St and Air Force, but they couldn't make the travel and money work. Oregon State and Wash. State have shown no interest in a CST or EST non power conference. MWC Commissioner has said she sees the Rocky Mountains as their Eastern border.
It's just not going to happen. Time to face reality and move on.

It’s not on Aresco to improve Memphis’ standing. His job is to take care of the AAC. It’s on Memphis’ administration and boosters to do whatever it takes to move us up. There looks to be a lack of drive in that group for this…

Amen. All true. And re Memphis' now weak leadership, that's why I've been saying for a month.
Hardgrave does the season opening presser and talks about us being a "well kept secret"? What the hell? Board should have fired him the next day. That was Hardgrave saying he hasn't been doing anything. It's his job to make sure we aren't a secret.

That seems to suggest they're not interested in joining another conference because they want to keep theirs alive.
While the AAC won't look west, will Aresco?

True, but whether it's called the new Pac 8 or the leftover two join the Mountain West, if it doesn't involve us, who cares?
Re Aresco, he can co-write a book with George Kliavkoff on how to manage declining conferences.

RE: WSU and OSU file to exclude exiting Unis from voting
WSU and OSU won their injunction...the other Pac12 schools cannot meet.
The purpose of the meeting was going to be how to distribute the Pac12's money.
WSU and OSU argued that the remaining schools in the conference should be the ones who get to say what happened to it.
The other schools who were leaving...wanted to use the money to transition to their new conferences.
The balls of those people...I swear.
