They should also count concessions workers, maintenance workers, media people, ticket takers, vendors, and certainly don’t forget all those morons who hang out in their RVs in the parking lots during the game.

They count workers I’m sure probably officials, cops, paramedics

The NCAA rules are you can count tickets sold or total in the house. We count total in the house because otherwise we could not count the students.

Just went on the ticket site, it said "Due to heavy demand you've been placed in a virtual waiting room", now I'm staring at a spinning loading icon, its been a few minutes. The message continues "You’ll be granted access at the next opportunity."

I just drove by the stadium and the amount of high school bands looks huge

"Problems" getting onto the ticket site could mean that someone did not anticipate the factors that are looking to make this a really well-attended game, like ...

... people have decided they want to attend the NIU-SIU game because it's going to be a nice day, Illinois played at Kansas last night, Northwestern is hosting UTEP (who cares?), Notre Dame is at NC State, it's an in-state game, and both teams are coming in after wins.

It's also high school band day, which means Grandma and Grandpa etc. want tickets to see the kids play (get those cell phone cameras ready).

Also ... something I think is terrific ... the official website has a fan guide with common-sense readable language touting the Yard, expanded concessions, free parking (Convo lot), etc etc.

Any modern website should be able to handle NIU vs SIU level traffic. I hope they didn't scare off any attendees.
