There is an airport in Statesboro with a 6000 foot runway that isn’t quite long enough to land an airliner. They will probably fly into Savannah/HiltonHead and it’s 9300 foot runway then bus the hour to Statesboro.

Has to be. Hell, Charleston is closer to Statesboro than Myrtle Beach. I'm sure our guys will fly into Savannah.

Yep it has to be Jax State, plus Dilfer said he wanted the team to act like an NFL team when playing away, get to the destination the evening before. 1pm depart is way too early.

Interesting that Jax St has to bus to Bham in order to get a chartered flight.

737 Max 8 (sun country) normal weight can land in about 4,800 Ft in normal conditions at sea level FWIW. It’s logistics.

Hotel is Savanah so it makes sense.

It's a little more than logistics... Yes, a 737 CAN land in that distance, but they're never going to land it on anything shorter than probably about 7,000 feet, especially if they're at or even remotely near MGLW. I mean, the book says the 172 at MGW has a landing roll of about 550 feet at ISA, but you won't find anyone landing on a 600 foot runway with it. At least not a sane person, on purpose. After all, once you land it, you have to take it back off, and the 737 is going to need the 7,000 then.

737-800’s are designed to land at sea level on less than 6K feet. Not much extra runway left, tho.
