2023 Fall Sports
Figure we probably should have a thread for our fall sports going on.
Field Hockey is 3-1 - Their next match is 9/8 at home against Rider and then at UPenn on Sunday before starting their conference slate next week
Women's soccer is 4-2- Their home conference opener is today (Thursday) against W&M
Men's soccer is 1-1-1 (0-1-0)- they lost their conference opener to CofC. Their next match is Saturday for their conference home opener against new member Campbell
Tennis and Golf are nearing the beginning of their seasons.

RE: 2023 Fall Sports
I cant speak to what they do any more as I am not local and havent been since graduating 11 years ago. They used to have flyers and such with information. Usually there is food like a small controlled tailgate and I am sure there is various information given out, probably small items like car stickers etc.
Field Hockey moved to 4-2 beating Rider and losing to Penn
Women's soccer is now 4-3-1 (0-1-1) after losing to W&M and tying NU
Men's soccer is 2-1-1 (1-1-0) after beating the Camels
This week:
MSOC- @UMass Lowell, @Monmouth
WSOC- @Hofstra, Delaware
FH- @Monmouth, Albany

Watched this on Flo and it was a heartbreaker! To be leading at the 80th minute in our first league road test, and see Drexel go on to score twice in a 4-minute span was rough!
Enjoyed your announcers and seeing Drexel’s facility for the first time.

It seems like Family Weekend this year is December 1-3, which seems rather conveniently centered around the Big 5 Classic. Granted, not sure how many parents they're actually going to get at Wells Fargo. But it seems too convenient to be a coincidence.

Yep, I'm sure that's on purpose. I'm sure Drexel would rather center it around a basketball game at the DAC, but I'm sure that Drexel will be required to sell thousands of tickets to this event. The problem is that they won't be able to put out a schedule of events until after the Temple game or later, as they won't know what time Drexel's game will be at.

RE: 2023 Fall Sports
Men's soccer is 8-2-4 (3-2-3)- beating UNCW but dropping to Hofstra
Women's soccer finished 7-8-3 (3-6-3)- smoking Hampton, beating UNCW but losing to SBU. They did not qualify as a top 6 team for the CAAT (finished 9th)
Field Hockey is 12-5 (3-2)- crushing W&M, beating Nova, losing to Delaware. Currently sit in 3rd place behind Monmouth and W&M and tied with NU. Either us or Delaware will clinch the final spot. Delaware faces Towson
This week:
MSOC- FDU to end the regular season. CAAT starts Nov 2. We clinched a playoff spot. 3 way tie for first (Hofstra, Monmouth or SBU) so will be interesting who gets to hose
FH- @NU, @Quinnipiac to end their regualr season. CAAT semi final is Nov 3

Thanks for all your updates. Shame that a moderately successful fall couldn't result in a finals appearance.

RE: 2023 Fall Sports
Yup. Unfortunately another similar result for a season. Some decent success followed by failure in the CAAT where it matters.

RE: 2023 Fall Sports
i got a kick out of this line from the write up of the soccer game at delaware...
"Drexel ended its 2023 campaign with a 9-2-5 mark, the highest winning percentage since the Dragons went 13-4-2 in 1990."
1990! 33 years ago! and even that season it's not like we lit the world on fire. it's amazing how low the bar was set across our athletic department...for decades.
