Holy run on sentence…

I understand the point you are trying to make though.

I hope you weren't an English major.

I support Hammock but like I said elsewhere I thought he should've went for it on that 3rd-and-8 to try and ice the game. I don't know if I'd call it "timid". I think the strategy was to force them to use their last timeout which was overvalued.

RE: Timidity begets losing boldness is rewarded
My point would be that, when our defense was absolutely horrible -- non-existent, then to "control the clock" and keep your defense off the field was a valid strategy, IMO (though you could argue for outscoring them-- but not if you don't have the offense to outscore them!)

But if your defense is decent (and they certainly were vs. BC), then I think "controlling the clock" is NOT the best strategy. Just try to score touchdowns! Push the pedal to the floor whenever you can! Create separation. Keeping the game close should NOT be a goal!

Not saying Hammock is doing that.... but sometimes it kinda seems like it.

Totally agree. My heart will not make it through another season of these close games. My heart could use a good rest.

I get the concern over the so called “control the clock” strategy, but you can say a lot of stuff about Hammock, but him being conservative overall hasn’t been a concern of mine. I hated the playcall Saturday, but how quickly we forget what he did at the end of the Tulsa game last year. I think for the most part he has a pretty good handle and the flow of the game and what is required when.

Specially with Rocky being so off Saturday. Hopefully in the future we get the chance to run up the score a little! hehehe

That might have been another good spot for Lynch to come in. Roll him out…if someone is WIDE open then let him throw. Otherwise just let him keep it. Running up the middle had failed the last 7 runs in a row.

Lynch is another guy that had a good game at BC. Did he even tough the ball against SIU?

Lynch is a good guy to bring in when the offense struggles.

Did anyone run into Tim Midity at the game today?

There was one play in the first quarter that they brought lynch in and then had him move out as a receiver and was wide open. Would have been an easy first down and then some but didn’t even look at him.
