They played UCLA very tough on the road.

ECU?

Goes to the big house and in front of over 100,000 fans keeps the Michigan QB to less than 300 yards passing and not allowing a 100 yard rusher.

Michigan averaged 55 with a margin of victory of 49 in their first three games last year.

Think the writer just picked a bunch of G5 schools that lost by 20 or more and made his list.

Probably so. Everybody lazy these days. Pretty much everything is going for shock value. Probably why people don't take sports journalism seriously these days

Or journalism in general.

Yes, the stAte team is very, very, bad. The run of 1 and done coaches coupled with keeping a bad coach around 3 years too long plus hiring a Memphis AD retread as our AD pretty much put all the athletic programs in a ditch. There was also president selfie in there who was asleep at the wheel through all this. The new coaches and AD are trying to pull them out but it's a long haul. Hopefully, we look better come Saturday. Until then, they deserve every shameful accolade they can heap on stAte.

I saw red flags his first week on the job here.

Actually signed home and home with a school that didn't even have a team 5 years earlier and another that just moved to FBS and gave both the first game.

Yeah, this seems like a no brainer to take stAte and the points. Especially since Ryan is so beta, with no killer instinct.

I heard former CA columnist Geoff Calkins on the radio the other day talking about the $200M or so that the city is going to put into the Liberty Bank Memorial Simmons Stadium. Wasn't he the one who created all this fuss over whether the stadium was going to get any funding at all? What a joke. Glad he's no longer a "sports" columnist.

Well, Tom was only there for a year before stepping down due to health issues.

My apologies. They are much closer to a bottom 5 team than I realized. Fortunately for them, they are champions of life.

The LB won’t get $200m. Closer to $100m.

That's called "teeing it up". There's no way it will be $200 million. Maybe $150 or even $175, but most likely not $200. He needs to reset the $200M expectation so he has good show material when it does come in less than that. He's angling to get big ratings later.
