Glenn Otto designated for assignment by the Rangers.

Hopefully he gets a shot somewhere else.

I believe Glenn has been dealing with some injuries, shoulder if I remember correctly. My guess is, if he has the option, he will opt for free agency. He was a 2017 pick so he's already rule 5 eligible (5 yrs for college players) but had been protected on the 40 man. If he elects to back to the minors he will be rule 5 eligible but those picks are required to be on the major league roster of the picking team. Too much talent, when healthy, not to get another shot.

In his most recent outing on Monday vs the Astros, Glenn threw 1 1/3 innings giving up 2 runs, 3 hits, with 1K. Both of the runs came on solo shots, Dubon and Altuve back-to-back.

Of course, Glenn's line is no worse than most of the Ranger's pitchers the last couple of nights vs the Stros, 13-6 and 14-1 finals, with 11 Astro HRs, 5 by Altuve in 6 ABs.
