SIU PREDICTION Thread
NIU 48, SIU 37
The Salukis come out smoking to take a 14-0 lead. The coaching staff has no choice but to unleash our weapons. Tray, Carter, Rutk, and Barnes all have big games and Rocky throws for 400 yards.
Who am I kidding? After coming all the way back to take a 31-28 lead in the fourth quarter, we run into an 8 man front in three consecutive drives and SIU eventually mounts the game-winning drive to pull off the upset 35-31…
FYI, the first score in my official prediction.

RE: SIU PREDICTION Thread
38-24 NIU. The defense looks a little worse (bc the WRs won’t be dropping so many) but the offense looks much better

45-10 NIU

Huskies run wild on the ground and Lombardi and receivers show what they're capable of. Maybe they even play Hampton so we can determine if he can be the QB of the future or we need to get another transfer QB.

This game is more winnable than BC looked a week prior to that game.
I’ve watched 15 minutes of SIU, they can compete, sure. They don’t look as big or fast as BC.

Gotta go huskies by 10, 31-21.

Huskies 41, SIU 37
Huskies hold 3 TD lead at halftime but get overconfident and have to hold off a big 2nd half rally to hang on for the win.

I don’t know why, but I have this nagging feeling this game is going to be shades of the Lynch-Garrapolo shootout.

38-35 Huskies.

24-17 NIU

Offense does just enough to hold the lead the entire game. Defense shows up again.

No way SIU is like that EIU team.

Gavin and Antario run wild on a
SIU. Rocky still shows rust and passes under 200 yards. Defense displays a strong performance.

Anyone know if Brown is 100% or not? He came back in after his injury but it was obviously as a decoy for one play

Doubt it. He’s always hurt. So I don’t expect him for this game.

With Williams and Lynch with a sprinkling of Flowers the run game wont be as good.

I like SIU a lot this year, we’re just a bad matchup for them. First half is probably close, they might even be winning, but they’ll wear down and huskies win by like 14.

He was running shoeless. He threw them at Hammock. Really amazing that he could get traction barefoot, but as you saw, it wasn't his best.

RE: SIU PREDICTION Thread
The last game vs SIU (2007) was a very painful loss imo. I remember Fattys was a ghost town afterward and The Spin Doctors were playing there (not that they are The Rolling Stones or anything) but an odd night. People left the stadium shell shocked.

Let’s not repeat that…..

My prediction: Huskies win in OT

RE: SIU PREDICTION Thread
I think 2007 was SIU's best season ever and they were coming off a 9-win season and beating Indiana the year before. NIU had a 2-win season that year.

If we can't beat SIU by multiple scores then we can look forward to another losing season.

This is entirely too much of an oversimplification. We had our best regular season ever in 2013 and nearly lost to EIU (yes, a bit of an anomaly because they had an NFL QB). We had arguably our best/most talented team ever in 2010 and nearly lost to North Dakota.

Sure it is, but have we lost to an FCS school when we've had a winning season? SIU was 5-6 last season. They are no EIU with Jimmy G and Dino Babers. Most of their fans are expecting a .500 type season.
