Atlanta has the cheapest prices in the NFL.
They do, but they also sell more last I checked. The bottom line wasn’t being hurt at the end of the day because of this. With the price of tickets to everything these days, I wish more stadiums would adopt this policy.

I wasn't. That's a big time brand as a sponsor.
23 seems to enjoy cheap beer, and not $7 beer from a local brewery. Lol

On the downside, you still have to watch the Falcons play.

No, I think it’s dumb to have a sponsor that is getting boycotted. Nothing more, nothing less.

There was two free water refill stations I saw in the stadium. One near the top of the ramp under the scoreboard and one behind section 127. It's not hard to bring an empty water bottle in the stadium and then you can fill it up for free.

I believe the concession agreement with UAB is that UAB gets 50% of the concessions profit. I wonder if the BJCC/Sodexho are raising prices for our games so that they still make a similar margin vs non-UAB games.

Bottles and cans are prohibited from being brought into the stadium according to the Protective website. Let's not lose site of the issue here though; $5 and $7 price tags for a bottle of water. We are in Alabama, it gets really hot, and that is a dangerous game to play. Just charge a normal price. The only thing any of this is going to do is keep people from attending UAB games.

I got stopped last year trying to get in the stadium with an empty bottle. Hope they get the word passed around to the new security staff at the BJCC. From my one game at Protective with the Stallions and our game last week, the new security staff are more confrontational & seem to have a chip on their shoulder.

Nothing wrong with cheap beer. It all tastes the same if you drink enough of it. I’ll have a 15 pack of Keystone Light for $8.95 Alex.

This thread is reason #234 of why Ray Watts should be fired and the Carol Z. Garrison Stadium should be where games are played, not the god forsaken BJCC

Some would call you a Watts apologist for only having 234 reasons why he should be fired.

On the upside, we'll see the Blazers play at the Peach Bowl ( if they let us, i.e. UCF)

Surprised that Sodexo runs the UAB Commons, thought that be uab employees not outside vendor. Who runs the Baron's concessions is it the club or outside vendor? At least they have an idea of how to run a fan friendly atmosphere. Instead of all being specialized sellers, have several selling the basic stadium dog/burgers/drinks then a few specialized like Papa Johns or Dreamland, even LF had this figured out.

RE: Stadium Prices WTF
Be sure to vent your rage.
It IS useful to post your opinions here. The Athletic Department monitors this site. They also have regular contact with BJCC. They need to be saying "You're pissing off my customers, and that needs to stop." And the BJCC will counter with, "Well, how do you know that? Maybe your football team just sucks." The UAB side needs ammunition. Your posts here and elsewhere on social media are that ammunition. Our athletic department isn't equipped with the best negotiators, but better a well-armed poor negotiator than an unarmed one. Let the anger flow!
Next, go to the google, enter "Protective Stadium." The sidebar on the right is their Google Business page, and it has a review function. Leave a one-star review, and most importantly, state why - just tell the truth of your experience, and how it soured you. There are currently 615 reviews, for a 4.6 average.
Concession sales will drop next Saturday, that's a given. Sodexo/BJCC will blame it on the fans, that's also a given.
This is most definitely a First World problem, but bad behavior should not be rewarded.

I wasn't really expecting anything different. Reply from Tony Kurre Radio:
"Mark is aware of the pricing issues. Unfortunately, it IS a BJCC issue. We’ll keep you posted. Thank you for listening!"

Wonder what the prices were like at Ga Southern's stadium on Saturday? Maybe some of the 50 or so folks who were there cheering for out team have insights.

$4 for a coke. $4 for a bottle of water. $6 for a cheeseburger. $5 for a hotdog. $4 for popcorn.
The only thing that seemed outrageous was their souvenir stadium cup: $18. The stadium cup let you have drink refills for $2, so I’m betting you can bring it back to multiple games, which would be great for season ticket holders.
