I have to agree with all the positive comments about CMN. Class guy, great coach, best we have ever had (possible exception of Rex Dockery, whose life and tenure were cut short).
He's a dam good ball coach. Maintained our momentum and rebuilt FSU. I knew he would be okay when he got all his players. If I had to cheer for a p5 team it would be them.

Our run game was so dynamic when he was here. What sets him apart from other coaches, he create plays to put his playmaker in the best position to win. He helped get alot of Memphis players get in the NFL in a short period of time.
Florida State is really a fun team to watch. Typical Norvell team....great attitude, lots of playmakers, great execution, and great play calling. They are my new 2nd favorite team. I loved the interview when the Baton Rouge newspaper person asked if the LSU coach's prediction that LSU was going to beat FSU motivated them. The players had no idea what the reporter was talking about.....basically, they won the game because they were prepared not because of anything the LSU coach said.

Consider the source. Although Tallahassee can get pretty cold in the winter

Absolutely
Yep. I am so surprised that RS, who was so closely coaching for him, did not pick up more of how to run that offense. I know he is an OL guy and they love the run game but dang. He had to pick up some of MN ideas and outlook of the game.

Looks like he picked up the Clay Helton bubble screen

always makes for a good laugh.
Yep. Went into a swimming pool supply store in Memphis late last summer. I wore a Memphis shirt. Guy working there started in on “wish you guys would take Norvell back”. I told him that he was gonna do well there.
I’d like to run into that same FSU dude again.

I agree. In the game against Bethune-Cookman, unless they were trying not to "reveal too much" the first game, all I saw was a bunch of zone blocking again. I started watching in the 2nd qtr and I only recall one play where one of the OL pulled. I'd have to go back and watch the whole game again to see if there were any I missed, but that's the one I remember. It's like he doesn't want to run counter anymore and that was our "bread and butter" in the run game. And not mixing it up makes us predictable. We're going to have another long season once we go up against better teams than BC if that doesn't change.
And I just don't believe it's the players. FSU went 10-3 last year and listen to what this guy says about their OL. That part starts at 0:37, but he talks about their counter stats before making his comments about their OL.
From what Ike has heard Spook was a tough S.O.B. Who developed some tough players. Spook believed in the 3 yds and a cloud of dust of fence. However Spook hurt the program while A.D. and putting us in the mo valley basketball conference. Initially we dominated football. Destroying Lewisville and Cincinnati. What happened, those two not only continued to do well in b.b. but played
Tough OOC games and we’re sitting with ding a lings in hand begging for a conference upgrade.
