Memphis offense wasn't very good last night.

Seth Henigan's QBR was 20.2. He was guiding his passes all night. Just didn't look fluid. Looked like he was afraid to get hit. Almost had two Pick 6's. One got called back.

The running backs were good but nobody has any break away speed that I can tell. Overall team speed looks kind of average to me. Nothing like the Norvell teams.

Defense looked very good. But that may have been the worst QB I've ever seen playing against them.

Overall, a tough game to evaluate. The opponent was just terrible.

Agree somewhat. We seem to have good running backs and receivers. Seth was Seth. O- line was OK. Defense I think we're gonna be better. We've got a kicker. That's not bad for a first game with a bunch of transfers. 07-coffee3

Sutton Smith and Blankumsee seem to have good speed. Watson isn’t slow either; looks like a good overall back who has good vision and strength. He also will catch passes, which is more like the Norvell days than what we’ve seen under Silverfield.

It sure as hell was that way yesterday.

We counted actuals for some amount of time recently, when almost everybody else was counting tickets sold, adding in the band, etc. We also had issues with the counters at the gates.

Made us look bad, so we changed back. Not sure when. Before this season.

I know it hit the turf. That's why I said it was close to being two pick 6's. That was a terrible throw by Henigan and he was lucky it hit the ground just ahead of it hitting the receivers hands.

Bottom line is Henigan looked off most of the night. First game of the season, he'll be fine.

His biggest issue is our O line is like a sieve, and Henigan's not great at scrambling.

They put that out with a month left in the season. I was like, please don't jinx this. lol

I knew they were going to win it all though. That defense was just too good.

The Bears were simply dominating that entire season. The zany characters on that team were incredible, LOL. Two things stand out to me re that 85 Bear team:

1. I think that early December MNF game at Miami is STILL the all time most watched MNF game of all time. Ditka truly screwed up agreeing to fly the Bears down to Miami around Thursday to "acclimate" to what was unusually hot weather even for south Florida. The Bears of course partied most of that weekend and then had their unbeaten season ruined by the Dolphins. Members of the Dolphin 1973 team were on the Miami sideline for that game. The play I remember is Marino threw a pass under pressure that richocheted off a Bear defender helmet about 15 yards...right in the hands of one of WR Duper (?) who was absolutely wide open and he strutted untouched into the end zone. I knew Miami would win after that incredible play.

2. Their playoff run that season was just dominant: Giants, Rams, and Patriots. Simply dominating. After beating the Rams for the NFC title, all the Bear players openly talked on TV how they WANTED a rematch against Miami in the Super Bowl. The AFC Championship Game was the late game and incredibly....the Patriots upset the Dolphins down in Miami.

One humorous note to that season: my youngest brother hated the Bears and truly detested the Super Bowl Shuffle (especially the stanzas sung by QB McMahon (punky QB), LB Wilson (Mama's boy Otis), and the Fridge). Of course me and my other brother made sure all of his friends knew about that and we found creative ways that season to play it around him whenever we could (with the mid 80's technology, LOL). He still hates it now so it is easy enough to include the video in emails, etc. and title it something else so he at least opens it.
