But playing two SEC games to open the season? Ouch. Missouri isn’t Bama but they aren’t Vandy, either. Y’all that hard up for cash?

Mizzou was part of a 2-for-1

They bought out of our home game after we whipped that arse in 2016.

You certainly did beat us in 2016 and our 2003 win was far too close for comfort from a Mizzou perspective. However, I don't think the 2016 game really impacted the decision to buy out the 2022 game since the decision wasn't made until the spring of 2022.

That's probably not a distinction that means a whole lot to most MTSU fans, but the new AD at Mizzou did not want to open up on the road back to back weeks against MTSU and Kansas State. Not very SEC-like.

I am concerned about the game this weekend. I watched quite a bit of MTSU/Alabama and it's hard to get a whole lot out of the two week one games since we played against an FCS team and you all played Bama. We were pretty shaky on special teams and I believe you all blocked a punt in the 2016 game. We have to clean up that area in particular on Saturday.

It was a bush league move by your AD to drop a game that close to the start of the season. I hope we never play Missouri again after this. Really turned off a lot of our fan base.

Very true but unfortunately our AD has been a fan of 2 to 3 P5 games a year. Thankfully it looks like after 2025 they stop doing it.

Yes, but a necessary evil -- have you seen what our coaches make ? HC, DC, OC salaries are at in the upper echelon of the non-$ilver$poon ranks

I understand that viewpoint. I don't think you win many friends when you enact the buyout clause in a contract that late in the cycle. But I like that we have an AD who is bold enough to ignore the critics and do what is best for the school.

I was looking forward to being there in Murfreesboro in 2022 for what I hoped would be a fun Labor Day weekend, but things change.

It's probably pretty unlikely we play each other any time soon so I suspect you will get your wish in this instance.
