Can the AAC get both Army/Navy to give up their game at end of the season to be played before all the CCGs?

What solid mid major basketball school in their right mind would come here? Especially since our last marquee basketball program (Memphis) is begging to get out of the conference? That basically disqualifies VCU, Dayton, and St Louis or any other A-10 member. With that said, the AAC definitely has better basketball then the Belt or MAC so we do offer something. I think you offer UMASS all sports to shore up the NE and then just stick with 14 basketball, 15 football. Nobody else makes any sense right now.

If Army joins, they already have ample games scheduled (between 8-11) so they would have to cancel most of them or reschedule for future years. Air Force is an automatic keeper each year for obvious reasons.

Adding a 14th BB school is optional IMHO. I suppose a few feelers could be extended to teams that would be a good fit.

A team willing to spend $25M-$30M in exit fees to join 2-PAC which doesn’t have a media deal or teams… I mean go for it! $100M+ in exit fees could help pad the budget.

Vcu is really the only one that makes sense to target. Would they join? Idk. 50/50 at best I’d say. The a10 is not what it once was. Nor is the AAC, but the aac does have schools that are a lot more similar to vcu than the a10 does.

How about VCU? They don't field football, have good academics, and good Olympic sports.

clt hasn’t been around very long. Those of us that have been have seen this Army dance 100 times. Until I see otherwise Lucy will move the football on it again.

Army isn't going to ANY Conference, they don't want to. The CUSA experiment failed, they aren't interested in doing a repeat of that

Original CUSA was a strong football conference. AAC 3.0 isn't. As backwards as it sounds I think they'd prefer a somewhat weak football conference.

No. 13 works surprisingly well for hoops. Play everyone once = 12 games. Play 4 or 6 opponents a 2nd time (quasi regional divisions / pods) to bring conference schedule to 16 or 18.

The only issue comes down to travel partners, but that also works out - eg Charlotte/ECU. The week they play each other, they don't play a 2nd conference game. And so on.

No need to water hoops down with a 14th. And if Wichita ever left, 12 works fine too.

I do agree the AAC should stand pat, but the exit door is still open. If I’m Memphis I’d reach out to the MWC, would be surprised if they haven’t.
