RE: AAC not moving West
If Cal and Stanford were not part of the deal, then it does not make sense financially for the conference. And as far as a reformed PAC, there is no way that it is gonna get enough TV dollars to justify us as a school to look West.

On the bright side, at least the road to the G5 spot in the playoff is easier (till that gets taken away)

MWC gonna get the last 2 Pac schools or vice versa. Even in a 5+7 playoff format, the AAC champ would almost never get in over the MW champ.

Well, that's certainly interesting. Makes it sound like it's not really an option for most of the AAC to go to the PAC either.

IDK, I just don't see ORSt or Wash St being that good at the G5 level. I mean they had all the resources of the PAC and still didn't do too much winning, so imagine them without all those resources. I still think the American is the superior conf even with the MW adding in the PAC 2

The AAC is always reactionary.

The MWC will pass us by soon.

Absolutely. Had we not added these new schools, we could have probably just blown up the AAC and took the best 5-6 and joined the PAC. Then add the best of the MWC and it would have been a true, best of the rest.

As it stands now, the AAC is a complete dumpster fire. I can’t wait to see who is going to replace SMU. Texas State? Lol

Soon? That ship sailed when the Big 12 raided us.

PAC 2 absorb the MWC (or most of it) under the PAC name.

nPAC then takes 4-6 AAC teams that solidifies the nPAC as the undisputed best G5 conference and at the same time permanently cripples its closest competition.

That's what I think is going to happen - and I think any AAC team invited to the nPAC will accept while giving the 2 year notice to the AAC.

Aresco is fixing to get bent over - again.

Pac is dead. MWC will absorb OSU and Wazzu. Exit fees at MWC are too much for schools to pay.

ACC will lose FSU, Clemson, UNC, UVA, Miami and possibly GA Tech, NC State, Duke and BC to the SEC, B1G and Big 12 in some fashion.

The MWC commissioner is one of the best in the nation. There is money on the table in the PAC. This woman will end up running the reformed PAC and taking a chunk of the MWC with her.

Whether she wants to raid the AAC or not I don't know, but when the dust settles, the PAC will still be standing and run by Gloria Nevarez.

I just don't see where we go from here. We are out of options. FedEx and AZ and whatever other corporate muscle we have should go HAM and get us in the SEC. I know it sounds crazy, but what if we offered to take a reduced rate. We can't afford to do what SMU is doing and not taking any money.

Big 12 will step back in and take the final 2.

Without the Cal schools the Pac will not reform.

I think we have been out of options since the B12/ESPN told Memphis and Fed Ex to go jump 6-7 years ago or however that went down. Since then, we haven’t sniffed a P5 invite

That had to have been our best shot. Not sure we have had FedEx with us since in regard to conference realignment.

We would have to offer to pay the SEC like 2 million dollars a year for every school for 10 years. And they still probably wouldn't take that deal.

If you don't believe we would offer the ACC the deal SMU just did if that were an available option, you're delusional. We absolutely would offer that deal. The ACC just wasn't interested. And you think the SEC would be?

The Big 12 will stand pat and take the best available options when the ACC implodes.
