We've been big on the Thursday openers, even before Cobb. I like it overall, although it's especially worthwhile when it gets you a national TV slot (unlike tonight, as noted above).

Looks like this URI squad is a solid FCS team. I like that for the test it gives the Panthers but hope it's never close.

You want some respect here, get the acronyms right. Georgia State and Georgia Southern fought multiple battles over who gets GSU and who gets GS. Georgia State won the rights to GSU.

Georgia Southern prefers GS. Much like USM prefers Southern Miss. We just made it official. App state should consider adopting an abbreviation. To many ASU's. AS's seems appropriate.

Not sure I've ever seen anyone care if we are referred to as USM, Southern Miss, or pretty much anything else unless they are being intentionally offensive. I certainly don't care how people refer to us as long as I know what school they are referring to.

Georgia State, like Charlotte, is an airport school. As long as they are close to an airport and potential corporate donors, they are good.
