Republican senate leader...
I'm curious as to who you think would be a good Republican senate leader after McConnells latest petit mal? I think the Reps should be already looking for one before Mc really succumbs to his problem.

My vote would go to Senator Cruz. He is much a bulldog as Pelosi was for the Demonics. He'll latch on and won't let go until it's time.

I can't see Cruz giving up his committee assignments to serve as leader, majority or minority

Current GOP Whip (Mitch’s job before becoming floor leader) is John Thune of South Dakota.

I don't think, behind closed doors, that the rank and file Republicans think much of anything of Cruz.

Ted Cruz is great but like the previous poster indicate, John Thune may be the guy.

He has been majority/minority leader since 2007. Maybe they should consider term limits for party leadership positions, such as 12 years. Yes, they could have voted him out but incumbency is powerful even if only 50 people are voting.

We need to learn to respectfully disagree. There are very few people here, or anywhere else for that matter, I agree with everything they say or do. I, however, try to be respectful because I want to hear others opinions.

I would prefer this forum not become an echo chamber. We already have too much of the hive mentality in politics.

We should all be able to respectfully disagree here.
