Lynch is a RB now, but yes I wouldn’t try to read anything into in season 2 deeps. It’ll tell you more about what happened last game than the upcoming one.

Is Justin's arm talent completely hopeless? Or do you or anyone think he can have a decent career as a system passer for us?
Just wondering what life after Rocky looks like. Maybe we run a two QB system like Florida did with Chris Leak and Tebow, or in our world, Anthony Maddie and Drew Hare. I like what I saw out of Hampton last year, he's got plenty to build on. But Lynch is a train when he runs. Or maybe he assumes the Superback role?

They’ve invested a lot of time into Hampton, but I will be surprised if we aren’t very active in the portal looking for a veteran like they did with Rocky and Bowers before.

I feel like Hammock absolutely has to go get a veteran QB out of the portal after this season. In case Hampton or Mason Kidd can't lead this offense. I don't see Hampton as the type of player that can improvise like Rocky (for example, that heads up shovel pass that Rocky did in the BC game). Next season's team should be a very experienced team as well with many players returning except for Rocky (and any of the current starters who happen to transfer). If next season's team underachieves because of the QB position it will be a waste of a veteran team.

Im going to give Hampton the benefit of the doubt until he proves me wrong. The offense did pretty well under him last yr. And remember he hadn't played any live ball in 3 years before that action. We said Rocky was rusty bc he hadn't played in 10 months. What do you think 3 years does?
As for Lynch...no thank you at QB. How they're using him now is perfect IMO.

That is great! That also means no injuries.
Either no injuries or the list hasn't been updated.
The only thing I took away from the identical 2 deep was Hammock didn't feel the need to replace Patterson with Barnes. Or maybe start a different LB. I didn't watch the LB's close enough to say one deserved to be moved up or down so I wasn't expecting anything. The rotation at D-end was such that I don't think it matter who starts, though I thought Oppong outplayed Williams. All 4 saw a lot of reps.

I would say there's about a 95% chance next year's starting QB is currently enrolled at and on scholarship at a P5 school somewhere.
And honestly, my gut tells me it's actually 100%.

Next year's NIU QB is definitely playing right now or fighting for playing time somewhere.
