Gabon coup
Most news sources are reporting Ali Bongo has been ousted. He’s been the leader of Gabon since 2009. His father was also president, ruling from 1967 until his death in 2009.

His elections have been marred by irregularities, violence, and calls of fraud.

In his Wikipedia article, Bongo had photos posing with Hillary Clinton, and also the Obamas. He also visited Obama in the White House.

The French empire in Africa is sure crumbling fast.

It’s odd house so many coups have occurred in short order, and who has meeting with the new leaders of every single country.

If most of these coups hold, the French may be in for a big financial hit.

Here is an opinion piece from Ghana about how France has been benefitting from its “colonies.” For those that don’t want to read it, some of the examples are countries being required to hold their foreign reserve money in France for no interest, French companies getting preferential treatment in virtually any project, and French companies getting first rights of refusal to all mineral and oil projects, among a plethora of other exploitative measures.

France has been playing the Bongos long enough. People got tired of the same old song.

RE: Gabon coup
Ran across this article from just 2 days ago about their recent election chaos. Didn’t sound like things were going too well leading up.
