RE: Full MBB schedule
Is there one or two MAC/Sun Belt games? From some reason I thought there were 2 but only see one on the schedule.

Or is the first one the Appy State game and it's just not labeled as the MAC/Sun Belt Challenge?

RE: Full MBB schedule
Nov. 11 home vs Appalachian State is Game 1 of the 2-game MAC/SBC Challenge, and Game 2 is Feb. 10 on the road, shown as "TBA (MAC/SBC Challenge)". Maybe they didn't have enough space on that line to label the AppState game. Or something.

They did the same thing on the WBB schedule.

I don’t believe opponents have been determined yet for the 2nd challenge games.

Opponents will be determined by current Jan/2024 "NET" rankings but adjusted if teams had played against each other earlier in 2023/2024 season. For example WE will not play Georgia State or Appalachian State in the February challenge.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I was aware of this. It's kind of like the old Bracketbuster thing ESPN used to do...which was pretty cool.

As for the Appy State game, I assumed with was the 1st game, just wasn't sure.

Thanks!

I need to work on my sarcasm, since nobody caught it with that "not enough space" line. Also probably stepped on some entitlement with the OP.

Anyway, comments on the strength or weakness of the o-o-c schedule? Home o-o-c? Anyone see a barn-burner they are fired up to attend? IMO, maybe Indiana State and N. Iowa.

Road o-o-c looks strong as usual. Just my opinion.

Indiana State should be pretty good. They have a sophomore center that would have looked good in red and black from Oak Forest.

RE: Full MBB schedule
Men's and women's basketball season tickets are now on sale.

There is a new hospitality area (where the previous hospitality area was located), as follows:

Huskie Athletic Fund Hospitality Lounge

Admission to the HAF Hospitality Lounge located on the West end of the track level. Includes a food buffet, one drink ticket per game and a cash bar. $25 of the total cost is a tax-deductible donation to the HAF which will be deposited with the NIU Foundation, who will issue you a tax receipt.

The cost is $100 per season ticket. Apparently, they are discontinuing the Sixth Man Grille where we used to get free coffee/hot chocolate and cookies.

Not sure if I will do the hospitality lounge. We usually eat before the games, anyway.

Another Frazier squeeze-the-rock-for-more-blood plan. E.g. 4 tickets = $400 for the Lounge, you get $100 total tax deduction, and he/they get $300. Plus cash bar income. And no cost for freebies for the fans. (Hint: concessions are still cheaper.)

Not trying to wreck a fund-raiser, but fans are not stupid. Gotta give to get. Maybe they could still offer free cookies. Or a lapel pin-and-ribbon that says "HAF Lounger."

Actually, the $100 is not a bad deal if you attend all or most games. Since I attend only the few on weekends, it makes no sense for my wife and I to get it.

Yes, I believe it's at the location of the Victor E. Pub.

Okay, so...they got rid of the Victor E. Pub?

Is there anything for us non-season ticket holders other that no hot dogs and no waters?

Of course not. Have you forgotten who's in charge here? STF is trying to raise money to remodel so he can drive his golf cart around in the Convo too. The really devious part of STF's plan is to get Dog Fan to buy a ticket so STF can drive by and ignore him there too.

I am really a cursed wretch. No more free cookies and coffee. No hot dogs and water. STF walks or drives by and ignores me. Some clown is always sitting in my seat. The cheerleaders and Silverettes walk past me and turn up their noses. Victor E. Huskie gives me the finger. And, the toilets are all backed up when I try to take a load off. Maybe I should just stop going to the games! 03-weeping

No, I just assumed those were arrangements Monty made that were leftover contracts.

Dogfan, know I’m pissed off I came up with the idea of victor e pub when I was a member of the fan advisory board. It’s supposed to be for all fans! I even said if you do his I will donate some big screen TVs so people can catch other games going on. It’s been gaining in popularity with NIU fans and visiting fans which was my plan for it. Burno has us on track for a 17-20 win season and the pub would be packed this season, I believe. The little guy needs something fun so he or she will come back for another game. I don’t like this idea!
