Why are most of Cincy fans huge brats now? Most of us cheered for them to get a deserved landing spot. Now they perceive that they are in the club and act like SEC DBs.

Otherwise, I don't see why there would be radio silence. We have heard nothing for something like 5 days now. That's surprising when there are so many people involved at the 15 ACC schools, SMU, Cal and Stanford and the public interest is so high.

Read ESPN article by Adelson.

Any team that wants to leave the ACC for next season must notify the league by Tuesday. Perhaps that is why talks are not completely over, as there continues to be a waiting game to see what Florida State does. Though multiple sources indicated it appears unlikely the Seminoles will do anything by Tuesday, there is a bit of a guessing game involved in what could happen.

With the prospect of adding no schools on the table, and understanding Florida State is serious about leaving, perhaps the Seminoles open more doors to getting what they want -- a change in the way television revenue is distributed. Or perhaps their vocalness will not change anything.

More clarity is expected once the deadline passes.

Another ESPN reporter, Pete Thamel, reported this on August 9:

The ACC's deliberations on Cal and Stanford have come amid a fascinating moment, as multiple unhappy schools need to make a decision within the next week about whether they want to leave their league.

There is a deadline Tuesday for schools to notify the ACC if they want to leave and change conferences for the 2024 season, a date that has been highlighted because of Florida State's vocal unhappiness about league revenues.

My guess is that ESPN wants to wait until today and then make a recommendation on which school(s) to add, if any, and how much travel money to fund.

Until then the ACC will be quiet.

This realignment is very transitory. You take in the best programs you can. When this naked power and money grab falls apart in 10 years things will get more regional again.

The ACC needs to take in the three teams for bottom protection.

It doesn’t matter if it’s 4, if FSU, Clemson, Miami and Virginia Tech leave ACC football is done.

The ACC will be back to where it was in 2003 when The ACC invited Miami and Virginia Tech to join the conference. Actually ACC football will be worse off because FSU will be gone as well.

I don’t see any reason for the schools who care about football to stick around. The ACC isn’t backfilling with any program that moves the needle.

I’m for Louisville, Syracuse and Pitt jumping to The Big 12, where we at least have former rivals.

That’s why I say let’s get it over with. Let anyone who wants to leave The ACC go. If a program doesn’t want to be part of a conference, why hold them hostage?

Now I understand the rationale for FDR’s statement: “We have nothing to fear, but fear itself”. FSU leaders and boosters are sowing fear to drive others to make stupid decisions. FSU signed the GOR and the ACC has a media deal…if they want out, they need to offer the solution ($$$).

IMHO, it’s good that only one program has to switch votes to approve expansion with CaliStan. We’re better off trying to address the needs of NCS, UNC or Clemson.

What if FSU doesn't withdraw from the ACC tomorrow? Then we're stuck in the same situation that we can't expand unless one of the aforementioned schools changes their minds. Is expansion dead then?

FSU is purposely being provocative and unreasonable. Regardless of what FSU does, the ACC needs to understand the issues of the other three members. It seems odd that NC State is opposed to expansion.

UNC must have promised NC State something public don't know about. And it also implies that UNC wants Duke basketball program die die die.

Do you fail to understand that a separate UNC and NC State is a legal fiction? Do you nut understand that NC State's people are the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the UNC BOG? This is not about the officiating at a basketball game or approval or disapproval of a new professional masters program. This is State of NC PUBLIC BUSINESS. When it comes to PUBLIC POLICY there is only THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA - so "ats" like at Chapel Hill or Greensboro. Look up the REAL NAMES of some of these institutions.

I responded with some fireworks after you already said we're just gonna be some tumbleweed rolling out in the middle of the desert after ACC schools leave....Would you have rather seen me respond with...."this fine gentleman just crushed us and ejected us into the ether, and for that I'm grateful" 03-lmfao

It's probably because, at the end of the day, they still resemble Pete Rose in someway. And THAT will bring down the most positive of people.

Doubt me?

Go to a Reds game. And just look around. In some small way, everyone resembles Pete Rose. Everyone.

That's gotta suck.

And make you do stupid sh!t ... like pay $3,000,000 for the right to hire Scott Satterfield.

If ACC falls apart, I feel pretty good about your conference mate, so yes you will be wrong

They are not conjoined. One is beautiful. The other girl is ugly and unshaven.

Why don't people get this?

For those who still don't get it, here's your handy key:
Stanford is beautiful - any conference would take them in a heartbeat.
Oregon State is slightly below average - you ask your wing man to keep her busy.
Washington State is ugly enough to make you want to put a bag on her head.
Cal is so ugly you want to put a bag on her head and another on your own head in case her bag comes off!

The best partner for the ACC regarding Stanford was Arizona State. You avoid doubling up on California. You avoid California public. Phoenix is close to So Cal and Las Vegas based on west coast standards of distance.

Yes, Oregon State is the best of what is left for Stanford with regards to the ACC.

I'd take Oregon State over Cal ANY day of the week and twice on Sundays. Let Cal rot.

Oregon State has horrible TV ratings, the worst in the PAC.

Compared to the Beavers, the Bears have higher game attendance, a much larger revenue base (donors and budgets), and easier travel requirements (especially since Stanford is the other program).
