Latest from Teel: More optimistic expansion happens
This is from David Teel.
The last line I posted below is interesting.
https://richmond.com/sports/college/acc-...2af12.html
I remain skeptical, but less so than at week’s start. As one source said: “The other day I would have said no way. Today I would say a strong maybe.”
(I was able to read the first time. Then a paywall popped up. If you use an iPhone or iPad switch to the reader as it loads and the article will be available without ads.)

RE: Latest from Teel: More optimistic expansion happens
I've run the numbers a couple of times. If the ACC admits Stanford, Cal AND SMU, with the partial shares, ACCN subs, and possible (small) bump for late Saturday night games, we're probably talking an extra $6M each for current ACC schools. No, that's' not "game-changing" insofar as the SEC is about to get a $16M/school bump from its new TV contract. But falling $10M further behind is certainly better than $16M - as long as the length of the contract, exit fee, etc. don't change, I see no downside besides travel - and that can be mitigated, too.
I still say keep the ND/Stanford series separate, or else change the contract to read 1 ND game in CA, 1 in FL, and 4 spread over the rest of the ACC - that's probably worth another $1M per school, and it makes ESPN happy. Pull in Navy as football-only for the 18th FB member and do the same and you could see a $2M/school boost without affecting Notre Dame's schedule one bit (other than guaranteeing a game with FSU or Miami every year, which I think makes sense for the ACC as well).
So, potential for $6M minimum, $8M with a little cooperation (but no sacrifice) from the Irish.

There would only be three home ACC games with ND a year, right? Would a FL or CA team ever play @ND in this plan? I assume ND doesn't want to go to CA if they have a USC away game the same year.

Does Navy add Maryland back as a new state for ACCN ?

Yes - no different from now. Currently ND alternates between this:
one year host Stanford, then @USC
next year host USC, then @Stanford
Could do the exact same rotation with FSU and Miami if that makes it more palatable to ND (I don't think the ACC has a lot of teams that move the needle for ND, but those two probably would).

I don’t think FSU could do a decacto 9th conference game vs ND, but perhaps Miami could.

Look at it this way
By 2036 it's going to be all different
Cal sucks but both schools definitely help carry Northern California

Who said 9th conference game? FSU has been scheduling 2 non-conference games every year against P5 opponents: one vs. Florida, the other against either Notre Dame or some other team - like LSU this year. All I'm saying is there could be a deal where you play Notre Dame every other year, still leaving opportunities to play LSU or whoever in the other half.

So was there another ACC meeting today or going to be one this evening? That was the rumor from media that they were sitting down again today.
Wonder if ACC folks not leaking this time around as it looked like a majorly unsuccessful circus this week so far.
