Hell they don't even have their own stadium or basketball arena. You have to walk 3 miles (18 minutes to walk a mile) from campus just to go to a football game. 03-lmfao

Not a single Memphis fan complains about where they play basketball. They were to get the Pyramid but turned it down to play in the FedEx Forum.

Liberty Bowl is something else but they're putting millions into it.

They don't complain because they don't know any better. They think it's normal to walk for almost an hour to get to their football games. The FedEx Forum is 2.5 miles away, that's a 40 min walk from campus!

Are there no other forms of transportation in Huntington than by foot? The wheel hasn't arrived there yet?

Would you prefer ECU's facilities be on camps or off campus? For students part of the college experience is being able to walk a block or two and be at the game. Why do you think most schools have their facilities "On Campus"? There's a reason why USF is building a $340 mill stadium.

Marshall fans would fall over if they ever actually saw what it took to attend a Memphis Basketball game.

The reality is, Its driving halfway across town and then paying $20 plus to park several blocks from the actual arena.

That's nothing against Marshall fans, its a major difference between small town and big city living. In Memphis, its fairly normal to drive halfway across town and pay tons of money to park to attend games, so fans are used to it. In a place like Huntington, the idea any of that is even possible is completely foreign.

Do they even tailgate at Memphis?

You do realize that we were in a conference with them for nearly a decade and played many conference tournaments hosted by Memphis...

So, take what it was back when you guys were in a league with them over a decade ago, double the cost, and make the parking twice as bad and you have what Memphis has now.

Yes. Though their tailgating set up is very compact. Its not nearly as simple to just put a tent up on the back of your vehicle. Most of the lots around the Liberty Bowl are owned by private entities, so there's no guarantee its allowed.

Here's a question. How many P5 schools in the Southeast do not have on-campus football and basketball facilities?

Hard to say. Its not that uncommon in the North and West parts of the country, especially in large cities. There's just not really a comparable FBS football program in the Southeast in a metro area the size of Memphis.

Atlanta and Nashville are bigger than Memphis. What do GA Tech and Vandy have?

All things being equal of course you'd rather have it on campus, but this is not like UCONN's home football field being 25 miles from campus in East Hartford.

I did a quick search, and it appears there are only 4 P5's that do not play at on-campus stadiums for football.

Pitt (Acrisure Stadium - formerly Hines Field)
Miami (Hard Rock Stadium)
USC (Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum)
UCLA (Rose Bowl)
